  • This what i really think of Cotto vs. Pacquiao

As much as i'm a Cotto fan, i don't see him winning this fight. Yeah sure he's gonna show up to the fight, there's no doubt about that. But going up against Pacquiao is a whole different story.

I think Cotto is finally recovering mentally after the Margarito beat down. And he's on the road to getting hit ***** wired tight again. Cotto walked through Michael Jennings, which everyone expected. And had a tough fight against Clottey. Clottey isn't considered anything ultra special, however he is a formidable opponent. I dig Clottey. He's a solid fighter who can punch and gots heart. Beating Joshua Clottey was something Cotto needed to boost his confidence. However, i think it's too premature to send him up against a super fighter.

Pacquiao is on point right now. There's no question. I don't think Cotto will be able to handle Pacquiao's speed, pressure and power for a consistent 8 rounds. Cotto's gotta hurt Paco first if he wants to make it through. I hope the fight will go the distance and i think it will, but you can never tell when it comes to Pacquiao's freociousness. Plus, i think Cotto respects Pacquiao a little more than he should.

But it's boxing, anything can happen.

I've gone back and forth about who's winning this fight, but I have a tough time going against Cotto, not because I'm a fan...but the dude finds ways to win even under pressure. He knows how to adjust. The thing with Pacquiao's style is he shoots in and out, but he still leaves himself open for counters and along with Cotto's jab I believe he can neutralize Pac's speed which might make Pacquiao revert to a different gameplan. Eventually, both guys are going to exchange and though Pacquiao hits hard, I don't see Cotto sitting there all night for Pacquiao to connect at a high rate.

I think this will be a situation where Pacquiao NOW faced a tough yet skilled fighter who packs a much harder punch than he's ever felt. Sometimes that's the difference maker as proven in the past.

i think Cotto is a whole different story for Pac. he's the toughest out of of Roach's hand picked bunch.

Cotto doesn't respect any opponent in the ring, maybe outside of it ya, but in there?

            nope.

He's going to give Pac hell.

Hand picked eh? Technically, DLH called out Pacquiao. But that doesn't count cus it's Oscar De La Hoya right? He's not a formidable opponent. And Ricky Hatton? He doesn't count either right? Those two bums could have been beaten by anyone. Right? So this is Pacquiao's first real fight, according to skeptics. All them other fights don't count either.

I think people underestimate Pacquiao's chin. Even if he doest get knocked down, he's gonna get up. Death before dishonor. I just think that speed's too much of a factor for Cotto to handle. Yes, Cotto can get touched up and Yes, one punch can slow Pacquiao down. But I think Pacquiao will still get him. Cus of the speed.

lol. If Pacquiao loses this fight. There goes his career. His career will be shot and down the toilet. "Damaged goods" as they say. LMMFAO!!!

NSB is going to praise Cotto once that happens.

Pac will be refereed to as sh0t.

pac leaves himself open for counters between his punches and he can get caught with that. but is cotto that good in counterpunching? the answer is no. only marquez can do that to pac

miguel have a decent defense but he gets hit. a slow punching margarito was able to hit him. if theres someone in that fight who wont stand in front to get hit thats pac

the third one highlighted was the same thing said when pac was about to face oscar and ricky

I think the BEST thing that happened to Cotto was Margarito AND Clottey. In Margarito fight he showed that he can go 11 rds with a BIG welterweight, who now we must suspect his whole career. With Clottey he showed once again he can go in with top 5 Welterweight, get a very nasty cut that would've stopped MANY, MANY other fighters and he took it the distance. Margarito fight showed Cotto that he is human and not a machine. The clottey fight showed Cotto that even with one of the worse cuts we've seen he still boxed and hung in with a very TOUGH fighter who almost beat Margarito, beat Diego Corrales and beat up Judah.

I think Cotto learned alot from Clottey/margarito fights and it's going to be an advantage when fighting a fighter who is NOT a true welterweight.
