Roy's legs were left in the ring after the Ruiz fight........they NEVER returned my dude!!!......all he did was lay on the ropes and fight in spirts!!.....he had the PERFECT opponent in front of him!!......still got mad luv for Roy and he can still beat ALL of the bums in the game but its the TOP dudes that will make him look like he should RETIRE!!!......he'll beat this bum from down under but IF he gets in the ring with a B.Hop.......not sayin' I wanna see this fight......but Roy will get a beating!!

Hopkins brings a mixed attack, and THATS what beats Jones. Tarver didn't have a good work rate in their third or second fight. And don't forget that Bernard can turn up the heat when he needs too, just look at the punch stats in the Joppy fight.

agreed with everything except hopkins aint slow and tarver hasnt displayed one punch KO power since his second fight with jones

Lacy was one dimensional, and Hopkins( like Tarver) has the ability to take advantage of Jones slower feet and deteriorated reflexes by mixing up their attack and being natural counter puncher's, which makes Roy hesitant about letting his hands go in fear of being counter punched so he just does enough to survive, the way he did in the third fight with Tarver and the Calzaghe fight. With Lacy, he didn't have to worry about anything coming back at him because Lacy has no boxing ability and has became a plotter, so he felt free to let his hands go whenever he pleased. If Roy fought anyone slick like Bernard or Dawson( especially) then he would look shot once again.

Hopkins is one of the best counter punchers in the sport, and you need speed and timing to counter effectively.

Hopkins is slow? Watch him against Pavlik and early against Calzaghe, he definitely has hand speed. Not the fastest in the sport, but fast enough to knock down Calzaghe with a punch he didn't even see and land a series of consecutive overhand rights on Jones at middleweight.

It's a ****** concept that Jones has suddenly got his legs back at 40. No way. If Roy was to step in with a young puncher I see him getting really hurt and I don't believe he will stop until that happens.

iv watched the fight a few times..am not saying that the 30year roy is back but his legs seemed to have alot more bounce..then the last 3/4fights where he seemed to drag his legs..what you guys think?did his legs look alot stronger??

It was a throwback fight, but that doesn't mean that he can go around beating CWs or HWs.

He looked good against Lacy. Enough said really.

If you put him in with Calzaghe again, he will look the same as last time.

Calzaghe is old and retired but he'd still dominate this version of Roy just like he dominated the prime Roy.
