    If marquez beats mayweather???

Will all the fans of boxing say that the 2 year layoff affected his abilities or he fought the p4p ranked no. 2 boxer in the world and he finally took a chance and faced a better boxer than himself...or how about the famous rib injury???

Flipside: What if Mayweather comes off a 2 year layoff and a rib injury and dominates the #2 fighter in the sport?

What does that say about Marquez?

Mayweather has a ready made excuse if he loses this fight because of the rib injury. I can't make any judgements on what it will mean for the winner and loser of this fight until it happens. If Mayweather beats a slow, bloated, crappy at welterweight Marquez it won't be impressive. If Marquez beats a brittle, rusty Mayweather it will still be huge but Mayweather will have his excuse. Hopefully both fighters will be at the top of their game on fight night so we don't have a million threads making excuses for the loser which will be countered by a million threads for the winner.

I glad floyd is back but he should fight someone his own size. He should fight Cotto, Margarito or Shane for a real challenge. I view this as a tune up and i hope floyd does to.

Start popping those bottles. Mayweather ain't coming back from a long layoff to dominate a top fighter. He wasn't THAT far ahead of JMM.

FMJ is a guy who relies on timing, accuracy and stamina. The three things that are MOST affected by inactivity.

Those are decent excuses but JMM's got more disadvantages against him, he's jumping up 2 weight classes and he's the older fighter in real age and in-ring age
