props to concepcion, i never thought that he will lasts 12 full rds with donaire though technically hes a super bantamweight fighting a super flyweight. this fight was tougher than anyone expected, donaire showed his ring generalship, good jab and was able to find out that hes got a decent chin. i also think that donaire is elusive and has a good head movement. yes, he got hit with a few good shots and thats just normal cause its a 12rd fight. though this fight was a mismatch on paper, i still consider it as a good win for donaire cause i was able to see that he can take pressure and can box for full 12rds

I think Concepcion didn't plan on making weight at all. So Donaire was fighting a much bigger man

I think they said Concepcion stopped working out days before the weighin and appeared to be energetic at the actual day of weighin. So he must have not tried at all if he was off by that much

if he won it would have helped his career by beating Donaire so I think it was a calculated risk by him (paying the fine in return having a chance to get big fights if he won)

Fighting an opponent who's about 3 to 4 divisions heavier than you is quite impressive to me. Concepcion has other things in mind, he never really intended to cut weight just to get a huge advantage over Nonito. Payback's a b*tch...

Was I impressed? I don't know man, Nonito didn't show me anything new that I haven't seen from him in his previous fights.

Donaire does have a legitimate excuse, he told Mario Lopez that he hurt his hand in the early rounds of the fight. So, maybe that explained why he was just throwing one punch at a time.
