You can talk up Roy's age all you want to, but no other active boxer on the planet is capable of that same performance against Jeff Lacy, or anybody else. I can only give credit to Jeff Lacy for standing up to that remarkable punishment. Roy Jones Sr. is the damn man, sorry Coach Merk...
I'm with you... Roy was on the mark last night... If he had one great performance left, perhaps he had it last night... He dominated Lacy in more impressive fashion than Jermain Taylor and Joe Calzaghe. Jeff had never been stopped prior to this fight. I ain't saying the Old Roy is back, cuz he has been concussed twice and he is 40 years old.

But as long as he has reflexes and reaction time to prepare for the incoming then he can continue to make some noise near the top of the division (for a couple years maybe). He's been in there with a couple of big (slow) punchers in Trinidad and Lacy and put a whoopin' on them. Maybe he should continue beating up on smaller fighters moving up? Pavlik anyone???

Pavlik KOs him. Be easy there. Pavliks problem is not speed, but angles.

That's as dumb as saying Mosley knocking out vargas proves how overrated Tito was.

Not so sure, that's what everyone was saying about B-Hop and Bernard embarrassed him. Especially if Roy can get him to come up in weight again. Roy's got enough skill to make Kelly look like an amateur; and you think Roy can't give him angles?

Bernard has a better chin, and much better defense than Roy, B-hop isn't shot either and is yet to lose a fight unanimously. Also no, Roy would get KOed because he hasn;t given any angles in many years now. His legs are gone 100 percent. All he has left are quik hands which can be slipped (see the Calzaghe fight he slipped all of Roys shots). Roy would go to the ropes, and the last place you want to be against Pavlik is the ropes. If Omar Shieka dn Hanshaw can put you on the ropes then you will get KOed by Pavlik.

Pavlik is not Calzaghe, lol. But I kinda hear what your saying... however, Roy's been spending time on the ropes for years now, he willingly goes there...

Jones might be competitive with guys at 160 like Pavlik if he made them move up and we know that Pavlik doesn't do good against speedy guys. He had trouble with Taylor even though he beat him twice. Hopkins didn't just use angles on him as Bully put it. He also befuddled him with speed. Roy is still fast. I have to give him that. But when matched up against guys that are not bothered by his speed, he will lose. But if Roy Jones allowed Pavlik to back him into the ropes, I couldn't even imagine what would happen to him. That is why I would not favor Roy Jones to beat Pavlik. I think a Jones-Taylor match up could be a toss up.

Well, he's talking about moving up to fight Danny Green, for a crappy (IBO) Cruiser title, WTF?

Well done to Roy. This really does show how done Lacy is though. That man seriously needs to retire.
