So up till now Roach hasnt been teaching Pac how not to get hit? I thought that is the first thing they teach you in class?
But Pac is the best in the world so he is probably a very good tecnician already. He is a combination of tecnician and offensive fighter.

The second was a very rare instance of Pac countering Marquez and considering Marquez has schooled Pac in that department over 24 rounds one instance of it is not impressive.

Pac's just a whirlwind. There is not need to make him out to be an incredible technician when it's clear that compared to guys like Marquez and Floyd - he's not.

He just beat MARQUEZ two times!

I honestly believe that backpedaling is a horrible idea for Pacquiao in this fight.

Miguel Cotto thrives on moving his opponent back and chasing them around the ring. He doesn't look nearly as good and isn't nearly as good when he's going backwards.

I know Ricky Hatton loves fighting going forward like Cotto, but Cotto is no Ricky Hatton. He has more skill, more power, and a better chin.

If Manny is planning on playing matador on Cotto, I think he's barking up the wrong tree. Everyone else who has fallen into that trap has failed miserably.

I would advise Manny to fight going in and out and try to hurt Cotto early. Then he can be the one fighting going forward.

I repeat FIGHTING MIGUEL COTTO GOING BACKWARDS IS AN AWFUL STRATEGY AND ROACH IS CRAZY IF THAT'S HIS PLAN.

i dont care if he is not the best technical boxer, as long as he keeps blowing his comp away and shows us excitement. at the end of the day he is the best fighter to watch and is explosive.

Agreed. But this is not the way to beat Miguel Cotto, would you agree?

SRL and Pac are two different fighters. Their styles are not the same.

The only similarity between the two, is lack of exciting Heavyweight matches during their reign, and weight division jumping.

That's what makes Pac exciting, he is not afraid to take a risk, unlike other boring safety first fighters *cough* Wlad *cough*

Well, we know constant pressure can beat Cotto, but I don't see a lot of objectivity on this. Not anyone could pull that off against him. It's not like that strategy in itself will win you a fight against Miguel. It took 11 rounds of consistency from a larger opponent willing to trade and loaded gloves to do it.

Pacquiao needs a different approach if Miguel's chin is not plaster weary, and it doesn't look it.
