my point ukbrawler is that no matter how many magazines, internet articles, etc. you read about guns you have no reason to know even half the facts about american gun laws. for a start every state is different, meaning its really no need to fully understand gun laws unless you own a gun in a particular state. you are right that he should have not chased the guys and if he would have shot them he would likely be in trouble. but the fact that he was taking advantage of a constitutional right makes him no different than me and you saying the way we feel right now. i think forrest was a great guy and i think he deserves more than the negative remarks that he has received just because he had a gun. his gun didnt kill him, his gun didnt rob him, his gun simply had the robbery suspect fleeing.

i used to love to go into pubs and argue with you brits, on numerous occasions i would have to end my conversation by knockin one of you on your @ss by the end of the night. its usually someone such as yourself that constantly claims everything american is dumb ignorant and cowardly. one thing thats always baffled me is the fact that u guys try to adopt american culture, your girls LOVE american guys, and whenever i opened my mouth people loved my american accent. BUT whenever it came down to discussing certain issues you guys are sooooo quick to say how america is so ****ed up but can NEVER provide a valid reason why uk is "better". its almost just sheer jealousy with no justification. i'll tell you what, i'm not for gun voilence and i hate to see that innocent people are shot, guns are here, just like they are there. when the wrong people get their hands on them is when bad things happen. the reason the incidents in the uk are not as common are because people are scared of the consequences behind using guns there. something people here seem to totally disregard so by definition, whos the coward here?
