Ha ha. Its funny, you make a thread about people being defensive about any negativity about their fighters, and then this is exactly what you do in this thread. Anyway, I don't hate Paul Williams, I'm also Puerto Rican, but the guy is overrated at least at this point in his career which translates into me hating him from thwarted points of view such as yourself. I give him all the credit in the world for beating Marg, but he didn't dominate him by any means.

He lost to Quintana, and then faced not only an old Winky Wright, but a guy who also hadn't fought in two years. That isn't exactly what I would call superstar level, at least not yet. He's certainly on the rise but the amount of praise he receives for essentially doing so little is just amazing to me. But, that's sadly how a lot of people see boxing, its not how you win its how you look doing it. Sure, he's looked good but he hasn't fought anyone that I see as a threat and I'd like to see him call out people his own size. Once I see Williams beat Pavlik I'll start walking toward that bandwagon, till then he's a good fighter with a lot of hype and potential.
