Something happened to Jones between the Ruiz and Tarver fights. One minute he can take shots from a full blown heavyweight and the next his getting ko by Tarver who isnt a big puncher. Some people believe its due to him moving down in weight, but I have to disagree. For his fight with Ruiz he weighed 200 lbs for his fight with Tarver come fight night he would of weighed about 187 lbs. I cant see how loosing 13lbs in 6 months make a guy loose his chin.
roy jones jr. chinny?

No. He is the same as Lennox Lewis. He has taken decent hard shots without going down or being stunned. He just got caught badly twice. Exactly like Lewis. Neither are chinny.Comment

No he is not like Lennox. Ridiculous.
Roy fights like he is terrified of being hit in any fight he's had to step up in post Tarver.
Lennox was fearlessly trading bombs with Klit in his last fight.Comment

Hagler never went up to HW and then bled himself dry back down to LHW. Chris Byrd and Roy did this to similar results. And Byrd took it on the jaw from the Klits.Comment

To say Roy was always chinny when we now have several examples of fighters losing their punch resistance when they come down from a healthy weight or have the chin beat out of them is pretty crazy.
Boxing history is a scary place if Jones is going to be remembered for not having a good beard at least.
Roy's accolades up to Tarver 2 are stellar. He's 49-1 (You can easily argue he won his first 50 fights) with two ATGs and a HW belt to his name starting from MW. If he retired right there he'd be mentioned on this board everyday like prime Tyson.Comment
