Well, you know, Ike was known as having suspect whiskers. Just thought I'd bring this up since it seems like such a Quartey blowout.

He was down twice against Oscar. And I don't know if you all remember his fight with Jose Luis Lopez. Lopez also dropped him twice and earned a draw with the knockdowns. Fernando had him hurt as well. If Cotto is as vicious a puncher as everyone makes him out to be, well we might never know...

Weak chin? You're crazy. He wasn't even hurt much in the Lopez fight when he got dropped. And the first KD in the DLH fight was a flash KD the second one hurt him though. He also took vargases shots without getting hurt once and he was out for two years. And then 4 years later he took everything Forrest had and beat him up. Cotto doesn't hit as hard as either DLH, Vargas or Forrest. Ikes chin was solid and the only time he was in trouble was against DLH, and he was the only person to hammer DLH and have him hurt froma head shot. Ike would blast Cotto.

Just admit you weren't following the sport back then or have any clue what you're talking about. Ike Quartey at one point was considered to have one of, if not the, best chin(s) in the sport. But years of struggling to make weight - and inactivity - certainly hurt him.

Quartey by decision. He can outjab and outbox Cotto while keeping Cotto on the back foot, he can also work at a high pace early on in fight, doesn't really matter that he sometimes fades off towards the end of fights when he does throw a lot of punches because Cotto would fade too.

I don't think Ike stops Cotto, I've watched a lot of Ike and I don't see that happening.

Quartey is undoubtedly the superior technician of the two though. That jab was a thing of beauty and you have to have some serious game to get past it. If Ike was fully on his game I don't see Cotto, as good as he is, being able to do that.

So yeah, Quartey bosses the fight with his jab and gets the job done by semi-wide decision.

Exactly how I see it. Cotto would get frustrated as **** with that jab constantly in face, and Ike is a better overall athlete as well as a more skilled boxer.
