I'm 29. It's because, like your screen name, I'm a "student of the game".

Taylor more than lost a step by the 2nd fight in 1994, he was badly faded by then. But Chavez was far from dominant the second time around. Taylor was doing well for the first 5 rounds and winning, but the brutal 6th round took his legs out.

Pryor being so badly avoided seems exaggerated from the things I've read and looking at the time frame. Anyone can call out anyone, especially the big names, it doesn't mean much. The real calling out is in negotiations. Besides, he had offers for big fights above 140, and also for a unification at 140 but ended up getting shot and that messed up the Mamby fight. Strangely he was the #1 contender at 135 while the champion at 140 although he hadn't fought at the 135 lb. limit in a long time. I'm guessing he could make the weight of 135.

Money probably played more of a role in the Black Murderers Row and other black fighters getting avoided than outright racism. Hell, it wasn't only white fighters avoiding these black fighters, it was sometimes other black fighters as well.

I hear Sugar Ray Robinson ducked some guy named Charlie Burly. Take it for what it's worth. A classic poster at a site I use to post at claims that. I guess he is the greatest fighter to never have won a championship

Robinson priced himself out of a Burley fight. They were on a card together in the Midwest, and promoters wanted to hype a fight between the 2. Robinson said he was "too pretty to fight Burley" and doubled his demand price from $25k to $50k.

Many years later, Burley had the utmost respect for Ray and said he didn't blame him and would have done the same thing.

I use to be a fan of paul williams but **** him and his whole most feared motta they are trying to portray. He cries because "supposely" no big names will fight him. But when guys like clottey, durzunchi (sp), and several other fighters are willing to face him, he does the same thing he accuses big name fighters are doing to him.

Also now that pavlik is willing to face him he is ****in up the deal w/ his high demands.

Fact:In May 2008 Tye Fields offered Wlad Klitschko a fight on American soil which would have been a massive event, but instead Klitschko decided to fight a journeyman club fighter named Toni Thompson.

Fact:In May 2008, after being declined by Wlad, Tye then turned to the older Klitschko, Vitali, and offered the same deal since Vitali was to return to boxing, but instead went with already beaten and way past his prime ex-Nigerian email scam artist, Samuel Peter.

                  Fact
: In Sep 2006, Tye Fields offered $3 million dollars to Evander Holyfield, Holyfield blatantly ducked the fight and instead fought bum Jeremy Bates.

                  Fact:
In mid 1999 Tye Fields offered Lennox Lewis the opportunity to fight on the big stage but Lewis quickly turned down the fight and said, "I will NEVER fight anyone taller than me."

Now I ask you, who is the most ducked man in boxing?
LOLOLOLOLOLOL. Are you serious? TYE FIELDS is one of the worst boxers to ever get TV time. You know what? Where are you, because you should stand before a firing squad for that one
