I understand there is a problem between the television and Universum.Sturm got used to fighting for big bucks.
I'm waiting for details on the matter. Sturm got a staggering 1.1 million euros for a defense against jap no-hoper Sato. Surely that fight wasn't worth that kind of dough.

Nice to see Sturm showing some real champ attitude.

It seems he is fed up with Universum ways of protecting the belt from every real challenger. They haven't got him any big fights in too much time.

Expect a law suit to come, the clause is there and Universum will surelly try to use it. I hope they do it sooner than later, so he may be free to fight again just after November, when his current contract expires.

Well, this pretty much kills the chance for Sturm vs Pavlik right? in case the fight with PW doesn't happen.

Don't be naive, it's all about the paper.

If Sturm-Pavlik didn't happen when HBO put up $2 million and German tv put up an undisclosed amount in the 7 figures, it's never gonna happen.

Until I see him fight an elite fighter...Sturm is just being Sturm...fighting contenders and no namers.

Interesting. I wonder if he is planning on making a return to the US, maybe going for a run at the real championship? That would be pretty cool, the MW division could really use it.

I think we have every right to be skeptical until Sturm actually gets into the ring with one of the big boys. He talked up a storm about wanting to fight Abraham but turned down a ton of money so he could avoid Abraham when the time came. I can see him maybe fighting Wright because he's old and faded, but I still doubt he'll tackle somebody like Pavlin or Williams who can crack his glass chin

Aside from Pavlik or Pwill if he wins and stays at 160, Sturm got nothin to do at MW. Division is dead.
