MMA isn't a massive problem to boxing, however the UFC is. most local mma shows really struggle to make money, alot of the major promotions go bust and can't keep up with the ufc. however the UFC is becoming very very popular whereas boxing is loosing alot of fans.

How many 'super' fights have we really had this year? 1-2? UFC have 2-3 major fights a month. take tonight for example you have silva vs griffin and bj vs ken flo and then 3 very solid fights also on the main card.

boxing you would have 1 major fight with an undercard filled with people you hardly know.

then you have the fiasco with the belts, it's a massive joke, if you ask the average boxing fan who the champion of ****** division is they probaly wouldn't have any idea.

i like boxing and love the buzz. i box myself however i'd be ****** if i said ufc is no threat. promoters/fighters/fans need to really get together and get this sport going, no more fighting once a year bull****, no more stripping fighters of belts for not facing the "no.1 contender" when there's a much better fighter to fight.

just look at the rubbish haye had to put up with, oooh we'll only take the fight if you fight us 3 times, in germany etc. you get so many fights talked about which just never happen, in the ufc you don't get that, look at franklin vs henderson which was meant to be at ufc 103, EVERYONE was moaning about the fight, there was no real point to the fight and guess what, a week later they change the fight for something better. no bull****, just quick and to the point.
The Super Six is pretty outstanding though. I'd like to see that grow into a bigger organisation which has a smaller group of name fighters on contract, the same way that UFC works. Making big fights, having their own championship.

I understand and kinda agree with Ricky hatton in the way the fight was handle but all this BS about UFC is getting boring, If hatton loves UFC so much then he can take himself and his little brother there am sure his mauling,Hugging and clinching style would win him more fans over there.

Hatton is annoying as hell. I'm glad Floyd and Manny beat his ass. I hope he comes back and gets KTFO again too.

I'm a Hatton fan but i don't like what he said here.

Looks like it's a trend that when UK fighters' careers are coming to an end, they wanna **** on the sport that made them millions of dollars/euros.

Weight issues have always been around boxing.

Some years from now, you'll have Amir Khan complaining that the laces on boxing gloves is killing boxing "The bloody laces on me boxing gloves hindered my performance, this is whot's killing boxing i tell me fans"

Then Carl Froch will disagree with Khan, diss him, and add that ever since ropes have been added on the ring, was when boxing truly started dying.

Then you'll see Calzaghe, Hatton, Khan, and Froch all old and wrinkly on some UK sports channel, still debating and sticking to their guns on what "is" killing boxing.

Judah and Matthew Hatton should retire. And Boxing is dying its mostly a result of protecting fighters so they have a nice record so then they get more $$. I dont think MMA is gaining popularity because of less politics/better matchups I just think more low brow viewers love it since its tends to be more brutal and the fans who just like to watch people pound each other and get all bloody. Ya know all that really macho stuff.
