What's wrong with you? I was only answering back to the person claiming that the one glove boxer wasn't a professional boxer which in fact he was.

    I appreciate both sports dude.

By the way, i wouldn't consider Royce Gracie the greatest. He is in the hall of fame and a pioneer of the sport, but not the greatest. MMA has progressed so much in terms of fighters cross training.

Warriors from early UFCs like Ken Shamrock, Royce Gracie couldn't catch up when they try to make a comback. Of cos there is also the age factor.

Anyway, it will be cool to see Roy Jones in a UFC event.

Some of them are good strikers, most of them are not, which is quite understandable because no one is going to dominate nowadays with just one discipline.
yes I saw the Leben-Silva bout and agree for an MMA fighter A. Silva has very good striking, however he's also very good with his legs + knees as well, 2 weapons he won't be able to use in a boxing match.

true Silva would be a huge underdog, and an upset would be quite shocking.

regarding the potential Jones-Silva boxing match however this just occurred to me.

I know Silva wants to box vs RJJ and thus the reason for the fight possibly happening

but what weight would it be at?

Silva's MMA fighting weight as of late has been 185 (Middleweight) although his fight tonight is at 205

and Jones Jr. has recently been fighting at Light Heavy (175)

so considering all the weight between 175-200 .. is it safe to say that a Jones-Silva bout would take place in that weight range (of above 175 but less then 200?)

A journeyman would beat Silva in a boxing match, while Silva would own any boxer now in an MMA match, probably.

I credit roy for crossing over! Great move from a $ pt of view.

Anderson silva would make more money in 1 fight with roy jones than he has in ufc in 4 fights. Great move from roy to make a cross over. He better beat lacy.

I have heard rumors of a catchweight at about 180 pounds, can't say for sure though. Silva has fought at 170 in the past, if I remember correctly.
