i hate how people diminish tito so much.

like you said gomez and benitez had better skills but tito was a bonafide star.

don king's plan for him was to unify 160 , win belts at 168 and challenge roy at 175.

that **** was crazy and i was one of those that thought he would do it.

of course hopkins messed up everything up but that really ain't a big deal. hopkins was a great fighter as well.

i just find it funny how oscar doesn't get any **** for losing to hopkins at 160 and winky for losing to him at 170......

but tito loses to the same guy and all of a sudden tito wasn't any good. bull****.

Tito was a seek and destroy fighter with ok boxing skills. He fought to break down his opponents, and the ones he couldn't find handled him pretty well.

I don't know how old you are but take it from someone who was around. Gomez in Puertorico was a God at one point. You want to talk abotu a legend in that Island.....

Tito was popular because he filled a void left by the great PR fighters of the 80's and 70's. In reality though, I think Tito wasn't even a top 3 PR fighter all time. He was a very hard puncher but had nothing on Gomez, Benitez or even De Jesus skill wise.

You might laugh at me but Macho Camacho was an incedible talent. The fastest fighter I ahev ever seen in his prime. Even Sugar Ray Leonard said he was faster than him.....if it wasn't for his ****y attitude, lack of focus, drugs and women, he could have been one of the greatest of all time IMO.

whoever laugh at you ,doesnt know the sport. Macho was a great fighter, his problem was his ****y attitude, thats why he wasnt very popular in PR.but skillwise he is def a top 5 all time PR boxers.

Gomez easy 3 division Champ, he have a record 17 straight titles defenses by KO, and a very good resume. Plus as a amateur he was great too.

Benitez is the better skilled tho, his defense and counter punching abilities are at a ATG level.

Tito was the more carismathic and entertaining of the 3, but his accomplishments are not as good as Gomez

Everybody loved Tito and **** but we have to be realistic here.

Gomez was one of the greates PR Ama fighters, plus he was a great pro fighter.

Im sorry Im as big fan of Tito as the next guy, but Gomez was more accomplish and more skilled!!!!!
