Jirov never looked the same after Toney. I don't see him accomplishin much at this point.

Pretty interesting. Jirov is now 35 years of age, and had alot of hard brutal fights that took a huge toll on his body and mentalliy. He may have recharged his batteries, but I dout he will enjoy the success he enjoyed in his prime years, when number #1 in the division and IBF champion.

In his prime Jirov was a very impressive fighter, he made 6 defences of his IBF Title and held onto it for 4 years. Him and Toney was a brutal war, in which both exchanged heavy leather. He also had another vicious fight with the unbeaten Joe Messi, a fight which Messi was never the same after, and it was just another brutal fight that Jirov was invovled in.

After this he would get some medicore wins and suffer defeat against Michael Moorer and a draw with a washed up Orlin Norris. Unless money problems are playing apart in his comeback, don't know why he is coming back. Not a very wise move for his health. Lets wait and see

            No !!

If Jirov is still fighting when he is 38, he will be a punching bag, just cause Vitali and Hopkins can do it doesnt mean everybody can do it. Jirov most exciting and memorable fight was against Letterlough, now that was a fight, better than the Toney fight. I don't think Jirov can compete at the top level anymore, he might be able to beat a few bums though.:wank:

Perhaps I am being overly optimistic and thinking exclusively of 2001 Jirov but..... WAR VASSILIY!!!!

I laugh at the clown who thinks letterlough was better than the toney fight! Toney vs jirov is one of the greatest fights EVER! You obviously loved jirov until he lost just like dimitrenko(you claimed he was the next great thing than **** all over him saying he was overrated after his first loss).you are the biggest bandwagon jumper on this site.you only started dissing him once he lost to tONEY! I will laugh if the fat bastard arreola knocks out vitali...I like jirov & am interested in seeing him fight again.

to vitali1999.to answer your signature question.lewis was out of shape & semi retired & still best vitali in 6 rounds.he gave vitali a gift title shot on 2 weeks notice & NEVER trained & still beat him so why bother? I highly doubt vitali could pay him 20million to give him a rematch.besides if lewis actually trained & had a full camp vitali would have dropped out with injury just like he did when he was to face Rahman & maskaev(when they were at their best.vitali is the most overrated boxer today.he only fights out of shape former contenders.no big wins or big name opponents on his resume other than byrd & lewis...he got beat by an out of shape semi-retired great & he quit vs Byrd.when are you going to get vitali balls out of your mouth?
