i never said Cotto has more boxing skill than Mayweather. i said that Mayweatehr has never faced anyone with the boxing skill that Cotto has. the reason Mayweather is so good is becasue nobody can outbox him, his timing and defense are near perfect and he has great hand speed and all that combined can embarass you all night or cathc you with something unexpected and end it early.....Cotto on the other hand has been shown to be able to neutralize hand speed and has good timng, power and boxing skill to give mayweather problems he has never faced...Mayweather wouldnt be able to stand there and laugh in the corner while Cotto pounds his body like he did agaisnt DLH. and he wont be able to just run circles around him all night because Cotto can cut the ring...

fight should have happened last year is a great fight that i would love to see...only way it happens though is if Cotto wins against Pac which wont be easy

It looks like Roach is second guessing his decision since day one. Thats not a good sign. Pac better know he is the one that will be in the ring and stop thinking of Mayweather right now. In any case, Mayweather will handle him and win a UD. Pac beats guys whose ego gets them into brawls. But Mayweather is reserved and cautious and will use his skill to win. NOTE: Not "beat him up" but "win") he'll just connect more that Pac does and put a liitle flash in for the judges...On the Cotto front for Pac to win he can't get so wide like he does, ****ing back punches when he gets excited...The first time he loops a punch and lunges getting off balance on his toes (like he's prone to do (watch marquez)) is when the fight will get interesting! Good thing for Cotto Pac doesn't favor the left uppercut so much.

Do you really believe what you just posted? Cotto had a
hard time with out boxing shane Mosley and you think Cotto
would give Mayweather problems? I think Cotto is good too
but you can just see by his performances that he is not
a dominate fighter to a guy that can actually put up a fight.
all of Cotto's dominate performances have been against guys
that he could push around and hurt. I always say this, once
you take Cotto's punch away then he is beatable or struggles.
Cotto cannot adjust well and Floyd can adjust and his stamina
is much better than Cotto's. The longer the fight goes on the
weaker Cotto gets and Floyd gets stronger as the fight goes on
because he takes his time to figure his opponents out. I mean
anything can happen on fight night but I would bet $ on Floyd
        all day if/when the meet.

Roach hates the fact that JMM is getting a shot at Floyd instead of Pac and he is bitter about it. Regardless of who you think the tougher challenger is for Mayweather, JMM deserves the shot more because he has taken harder fights than Pacquiao has since their rematch.

i disagree jmm hasnt even fought above 135 yet so i think he is undeserving of a fight with floyd but i also think that floyd beats pac without much trouble. jmm is a good fight for floyd only because of the long layoff and maybe a little ring rust and then hopefully he will fight mosley or cotto

We still don't know how good Manny really is above 130 because
135/147/140 he fought all easy fights. I think JMM has been more
battle tested. Though we may or may not have thought Manny would
be tested, fact of the matter is that he wasn't. Cotto will be Manny's
                first stiff test above 130.

i dont think manny or jmm have proven they could handle a top ww at this point and im not sold on either handling mayweather or cotto but at least manny has fought at 140 -147 granted not against top comp but the one time i seen jmm at 135 he looked shaken by juan diaz punches in the early rounds and diaz is not a power puncher

Juan Diaz is not a big puncher but when someone is continually
beating you in the face being the naturally bigger guy at 135
then it could get hairy. You have a point though, Manny/JMM
could be too small to deal with prime guys like Cotto/Floyd.

On the context of actual fights, yes I could agree with you that JMM has harder fights. But prior to fights with DLH and HATTON, the general consensus is Pac is taking more risk going up and down the divisions. IMO, whatever excuses dlh/hatton had, the one-sided nature of Pac fights leads people to believe that those were easy fights.
