Hatton only lost to Mayweather how could he be damaged goods?

Pacman had 3 losses and still in his Prime.

Why is GAyweather fighting Marquez then with more than 1 lost, he is more damaged goods using that logic

Its the manner in witch he lost that hurt him. Look at rnd eight all the way through the end on the fight. He was punished. His style before Mayweather didn't help his cause either, He was going to have to retire young anyways. But freddie Roach even noticed Hatton was a bit damaged after that fight in particular because of how Hatton looked in his very next fight.

Hatton has been on the downslide since Collazo mate

he still put on a decent performance by his standards against Floyd, but the brutal ending and mental effect of his first defeat were near enough the final nail in the coffin

Floyd broke Hatton down mentally. Once Cortez rightfully stopped him from holding and hitting the back of his head

To get knocked out in brutal fashion to the point where you are punished is worse and stays with you longer then flash knockouts that occur early in fights.
