I heard his wife makes him live in the shed at the bottom of the garden?

I'm watching his career right now.he was a solid contender, very popular gentleman.he had great power,a decent chin but one dimensional with stamina issues.by the end he was just too big.he was solid in the 215-225 range but got to bulked up & by his last few fights he was 245-247.too muscular.he only lost to Tyson twice, lewis, witherspoon, smith.all 4 were world champions with great power.bruno stamina & habit of shoe shining hurt him vs witherspoon & especially vs lewis.he was way ahead vs lewis then backed him in the corner & shoe shined lewis' stomach & was showing off to the crowd when out of no where a huge left hook not a right staggered Bruno then the right came after but the huge left hook rocked him.he never shoe shined again.he was a solid contender but a step below elite class...I always thought he was a total class act in & out of the ring.I heard a few years back he had a nervous breakdown...a really bad one!Comment

so he was able to beat mccall(just knocked out lewis) but in his very next fight when he loses to tyson he's suddenly shot.I've seen one guy, can't remember who, say degrading things about this man. I just thought I'd like to say a few things in his defense. First of all, Frank Bruno was no bum. Any man who fights a prime Tyson and remains on his feet when the fight is over is no bum. Much less a man who is able to stagger Tyson. Second, he was too heavy built for a boxer. That made his stamina weak and he lost some of his fights because of that.
He was beating Lewis and leading by 4 points on one of the scorecards (the other two judges, Americans, erroneously had it even) when he walked into a big right hand. Now we know everything about Lewis' right hand. Yet it took more beating to finish him off. Before that, Bruno was easily outjabbing Lewis and landing harder punches as well.
He also beat Oliver McCall by a wide decision. It was sadly to be his swan song. He was a shot fighter by the time he faced Tyson again, a Tyson who had just returned, hungry and mad. Bruno was 34, Tyson 29. The Frank Bruno story is a sad one for it is more of a case of what could have been rather than what was. Had he maybe had a better trainer, who could tell him not to do so much bodybuilding and instead focus more on the skill and footwork, I am sure he would have been more successful. He had the heart and courage and power to become a great heavyweight. But it was not to be.
So don't judge Frank Bruno too harshly. Pity him instead. Especially for what he is today, a mentally ruined man.Comment

great to hear he's doing well.I always liked him.he never belittled an opponent & always gave high regards to whoever he was fighting.always in shape & fought anyone put in front of him.I agree with the poster who said he could of used a better trainer.an American finisher like shields, steward, atlas, etc. It just goes to show you his loyalty & trust in his people around him.solid boxer & great human being.the sport is missing these guys nowadays...always in shape for every fight but just to bulky.jeff lacy comes to mind when I compare someone to him.lacy got way too muscular & has the same problems.Comment
