Juan Manuel Marquez training update (picture)

It appears that he's lost most of the flab people were criticizing him over.

The article mentions that Marquez is in great condition and has been sparring for 12 rounds against Cuban Roberto Norris, rookie Juan Manuel Montiel, Panamanian Antonio Fernández, and closed with three rounds with Alejandro Barrera.

"I am satisfied for having done this work. After twelve intense rounds I do not feel tired. We must take into account that I worked with six-ounce gloves and we must add the heat of the gym. Well I could do twelve rounds, " he said.

"This week I started working on speed, which is what I'll need to beat Mayweather. I am also training to hit the body. Rare is the fighter who has gone downstairs against this fighter. Zab Judah did, and I will also try. Judah feinted and used lateral movement, there are ways to do this, despite the fact that Mayweather has many resources to neutralize his opponents. "

"I'm eating a double portion of what I normally eat. I have an excellent program for nutrition and fitness work," he added.

With his running regimen, Marquez has made the time of 1 hour and 7 minutes while running 12 kilometers uphill in Nevado de Toluca.

      damn, he looks fat!
guess the taco diet is working out?
he should have stayed somewhat lean so he didn't
      lose any speed.

I dont think people were critisinghim for any other reason apart to have a dig at Mayweather for fighting JMM at 144, Another thing was the picture where he looked fat was from a previous training camp.

Well a few people were also having a go at Marquez. I believe the previous pics were described as being from July 16th.

We'll see, Mayweather could look rusty after that long layoff. JMM may be the clear underdog for several reasons but he's not an opponent that should be taken lightly. Either way, Marquez has more to gain and less to lose in this fight than Mayweather.
