Just because you lose a tough fight doesn't mean you are past your prime. If you fight the best fighters sooner or later you will lose once in a while. The other guys are good to you know?

All I will say is it looks a bit like Hatton.

Hatton fights Mayweather and gets Destroyed
Cotto fights Marg and Gets Destroyed

Hatton fights Lazscano and looks a little shaky
Cotto fights jennings and looks ok

Cotto fights Clotty and looks Very Shaky
Hatton fights Paulie and looks ok

Neither of em were on fire since those big losses

Cotto is just fine. Clottey don't allow people to look good against him.

I think everyone is overlooking the fact that Cotto was on survival mode against Clottey...

Clottey carries a heavy punch great stamina and even without the cut Cotto was on a hard mission by itself. I dont think he is past his prime I just think he is facing the best out there and no one but no one else on that division would survive like Cotto against Clottey...

I don't think so, he still has technical flaws which has shown up when he has fought against a high level opponent. Maybe mentally he isn't totally over the Margarito loss, there were some moments in the Clottey fight that looked a lot like the Margarito fight right before he took those knees. But maybe fighting through those moments and pulling out the win will have helped him move on a little.

i think that if clottey wasn't so underrated then people would realize any top WW or current WW champion WILL struggle against clottey.

clottey ain't a joke, people. wake up. cotto had a tough time, just because he isn't dominating other top WW fighters from rd 1-12 doesn't mean he's shot.

plus, with all of the drama in his camp during that fight could **** up a fight alone.

                1. drama with his uncle
                2. switching trainers
                3. don't forget the humongous cut that he received and WANTED to keep going, no matter what. the amount of heart and how much adversity he went through showed a lot about his character whether anyone chooses to accept that or not. a deficiency in his performance, much? with good reason.

......everyone has technical flaws.... everyone has difficulties when they face good opponents...

Cotto survived against Clottey but you can not accept it.. you can not accept he is a WARRIOR

What I meant was that technical flaws that show up against a higher level of opposition doesn't mean he's past his prime.

                      Misunderstood my bad...

                      You have a point.

I think Cotto learned how to survive already but he needs to use that jab that jab is the key to the victory
