Cotto Starts Training For Pacquiao FIght

PONCE - The Puerto Rican Miguel Cotto, Welter Champion of the World Boxing Council (OMB), today began training for the fight that held November 14 in Las Vegas, Nevada, before the filipino Manny Pacquiao.

Publicist José "Pepo" Pereira said that Cotto began with exercises in the training courses at the Jesus Maria Freire de Cidra in the afternoon and conducted exercises in the gymnasium of Aguas Buenas.

Pereira said that Cotto, who lives in Caguas, training will continue on Wednesdays and Fridays.

According to the experts, Cotto will win this fight in the biggest bag of his career.

Still in dispute is whether the fight is for the world championship for possessing 147 pounds or if Cotto will not fight in the crown is at risk because the contracts specified that the monarch can not regret for the lawsuit more than 145 pounds.

The president of the OMB, Francisco "Paquito" Valcarcel, insists that the fight will be for the world championship that has Cotto.

    This is from Primera Hora

Aguas Buenas. On-boxer Miguel Cotto today began their preparations for their next appointment with the November 14 filipino Manny Pacquiao.

Welter champion (147 pounds) of the World Boxing Organization (OMB) arrived at the gym Abner Cotto Water Good for a short training session that included four rounds punishing sack.

"I feel good to be starting. I'm going to take things slowly working three days a week. I was required to be in the gym again," said Cotto.

Creole in the morning held a race track about 40 minutes, something that his coach Joe Santiago welcomed. "He had a good break and we wanted to start work in time for the magnitude of the fight with Pacquiao," said Santiago.

Cotto will continue the routine until the last week of August when it is expected that Phil Landman, his personal trainer, get to Puerto Rico. Then in September, moved to Tampa, Florida.

Good for Cotto. He seems to be taking this fight seriously.

Dang you need 3 months to train for a former 108 lber? Thats 12 weeks, Pac seems to get other fighters out of their comfort zone.

Most fighters train about 8 weeks for fights, 12 weeks is very excessive.
