Why does Barrera and Morales avoids Marquez?

JMM's style will make anyone look bad. And to look bad is the last thing those mexicans want. They'd rather lose in an exciting match than to look bad in a win...

i have to disagree... they will look bad alright, but if they win, their market value will shoot up big time... it just shows you can take anybody blocking your way to greatness...

I agree with that. I'm not a big fan of avoiding fighters, but I can see the reasons why they do it.
Personally I belive that you have to face every single one that can offer you a challenge to be considered great. Doesn't really matter to me if you don't beat everyone, as long as you try.
The word "great" is overused towards fighters today. Don't know if we should call any of the fighters today for great, because they're all avoiding someone...

I think it's fair for fighters to take on an easy opponent after a gruelling fight like Pac-JMM. After all, it's their life that's on the line. If you don't have complete faith in your skills when you fight the best, you will lose. So it's better to take a tune-up before the rematch so you know you will perform your best in the rematch.

A boxer is called a fighter because of the root word "fight" and not avoid. A fighter should not avoid anyone if he wants to be called a warrior or a true gladiator. A true fighter does not think about the outcome of the fight instead he thinks about how he can give the best performance of his life in every fight. I am a Pacman fan but if Pacman follows the avoiding attitude it will break my heart. Pacmans motto and sponsor is NO FEAR!!!

Could one of the reason be because they have the same promoter (TOP RANK)??.... Arum will LOSE money if HE have them fight each other...everybody knows that.
