If HBO doesn't try to pick it up they're crazy. Their battles have won fight of the year for the past two years.
Israel Vazquez, Rafael Marquez Want a Fourth War

Neither of these guys has received any significant damage from these fights, and there's no reason not to make a 4th. So long as the ref, ring doctor, and corner people do their jobs, they could probably have a dozen fights and suffer nothing long-term.
Personally, I'd like to see them fight every chance I can get. Never a dull second, and always competetive because both are at the top of the sport. What boxing is all about.Comment

The only way for Marquez or Vazquez to make PPV money with a fight in October is by talking to Bob. Arum's Latin Fury PPV series (which sucks most times) is the only event that may take place anytime and anywhere since BoB runs the whole show. Then again, he will need to face JuanMa Lopez. Any other road taken, will lead to less money cause the main events already got dates and money assigned to the card.Comment

Mexican rivals, Rafael Marquez and Israel Vazquez, want the chance to stage a fourth war at featherweight. After three blood and guts battles, a fourth fight is what both boxers want the most. Marquez wants the fight so bad that he plans to postpone a possible tuneup on August 22 to pursue an October 17 date against Vazquez. [details]Comment

these guys know that facing each other is the biggest payday out there for either of them right now so why not? my question is when does it end, if marquez wins are we gonna want a fifth fight for a rubber match? this isn't gatti-ward here where both guys are shot fighters, these are two guys who are wasting their prime on each other, i say see what else is out there and then later on come back and stage the fourth fight as kind of like a farewell match as both guys are on their way out, by then no one will probably care however which is why they're chasing the money now
From my own experience all my hardcore boxing friends love this trilogy, but those that "love" boxing but do not follow it as ardently are con****uously tepid regarding a fourth fight, if they even know it is currently a possibility. I am inclined to believe that either of these two fighters would earn much more money fighting Juanma for example. The thing is that as Vazquez himself states, the people both fighters encounter on a daily basis and recognize him (again hardcore boxing fans) favor a fourth encounter. Hence their possible overestimation of what that fight could bring in. Just my take.Last edited by Gabilan; 08-03-2009, 10:59 AM.Comment
