I read somewhere that even before the dr. examined him, he was already telling his corner that he can`t fight anymore. And told the doctor the same before he even examined him. It this true?

yea just like the ringside doctor stopped the judah-clottey fight when judah lied and said he couldn't see. let's see what are the similarities between both fights? oh yea campbell and judah were both getting beaten up.

Maybe this is the point of others, that he made his own personal decision prematurely, instead of waiting for the doctor to decide. However, if he felt he could not be able to fight anymore, that`s his decision regardless of the doctor. The main criticism could be, that it was his job to box, and let others do their own roles, not unduly influence others.

But this is just my own personal opinion. It reminds me of David Diaz/ JMMarquez who had a very nasty deep gashes above their eyes and still wanted to fight, and even told everybody not to stop it.

Maybe the sequence of events would make people appreciate the performance Cotto put up against Clottey.

It is just disheartning that Campbell seems so eager to quit. Methinks he just wanted out of there prior to the 5th to get a NC because lets be real, he didn't belong in the same ring with Tim. Campbell was overrated prior to this fight, and now he will be regulated to glorified gatekeeper

Soupy heart pumps koolaid

"I SEE WHITE SPOTS" as Soupy looks the doctor in the eyes with both his eyes looking as clear to the public as a cloudless sky.The cut was above the eye (a tiny cut ,mind you) but SOUPY made the mistake of thinking the ref ruled it a headbutt..If Soupy had been right and the ref ruled it a headbutt this fight WOULD have been a no decision.

The POINT is, when wearing Gatti shirts don't quit JUST because you KNOW an ass whippin is coming.Think Gatti/Mayweather,Gatti/Baldimir or his last fight against Gomez. In ALL those fights GATTI knew EARLY that an ass whippin was coming ,15 years as a pro fighting elites since winning his first world title at 23 and going thru WAR after WAR his body finally had nothing left.but he NEVER looked for a way out knowing he no longer had it anymore.
