Actually TS, your plan can work to perfection if Cotto vacates the title.

If Cotto vacates the title, then the WBO will proceed to make the fight for the vacant title that Pacquiao only can win because Cotto vacated it. Now since is at a catweight, Cotto can come in at 147 and teh commission cant penalize Cotto because WW is from 141-147, neither the sanctioning body because Cotto aint paying the fees because Cotto vacated the totle and cant fight for it right away.

Pac will probably come in between 140-142 officially. He came in at 138 for the Hatton fight so he's small for even jww.

Now that the fight is officially at 145lbs and officially for the title whether or not Cotto wants it to be.....I fully expect Cotto to come to the official weigh in at 147. He may be fined a couple of million but if I was in Cotto's shoes and was forced to defend the title at a catchweight against my will I would just come in at the maximum limit anyway. What are they going to do?? Cancel the fight a day before because of 2lbs?? I think not. They will still fight and Pacquiao will have a full on welterweight fight on his hands whether he wants it or not.

If he rehydrates properly he will be 155+ on fight night, 148 for Pacquiao...

I think you are mistaking something here.

When a weight is stipulated, is not that the fighters needs to come at that exact weight, but that the lomit of weight is that particular weight.

For example this catchweight, both fighters can come anything from 140.1 to 145 as a max without getting penalized!!!!!!!1

So pacquiao will probaly come in at 142 and Cotto at 144 or 145!!!!!!

This would be awesome cos seriously what could Pac do? Cancel the fight? He'd be hitting himself in the pocket more than Cotto as he's due to make a lot more out of the fight. Cotto will be professional as always and turn up at 145 for the weigh in but will outweigh Pac by about 7 pounds on fight night. WAR COTTO!!!
