Nate was about to get Run Over last night and he knew it. As soon as he realized that there was a way out of the fight he jumped all over it. I've never seen a professional fighter want out of a fight so bad. Barrera was cut horribly by a butt in the first round against Khan, he fought on valiantly. Cotto was gashed badly by a Clottey butt in the third round, he fought back like a dog. Nate... no such huevos.
He didn't give his corner the opportunity to assess or work the cut. He didn't give the referee a chance to look at the cut. He didn't even give the doctor a chance to so his job. Nate's words to the doc: I can't see! I see spots! He was basically telling the doc that the fight must be stopped.
Nate knows what "Buzz" words to say to have the doctor stop the fight. Anyone who's been in the business as long as Nate would know that "seeing spots" can be associated with blood being behind the eye and/or retina damage. He knew that the doc would have no choice but to stop the fight.
He tried to play the part of referee, ring corner and doctor last night. Nate attempted to slither his way out of the fight with a NC. He was getting worked by Bradley and he knew that if the fight was stopped before the 4th he'd walk away without a TKO loss on his record. Pretty clever on his part, but a Warrior his is not.
He got what he deserved IMO.
P.S. The most exciting part of last night's fight: Nate's disgusting but hilarious little ***** fit (which he took all the way to the dressing room). That **** was too funny.
