As for Green, cant the middleweight champ fight middleweights? Ever since he got the belts they always want him to move around. Forget Green, I hope P.Williams steps up and takes the fight.
    HBO wanted Pavlik Abraham bad...

Pavlik really needs to fight a 'name' fighter next, anything else is going to disappoint alot of people. alot of casual boxing fans in my family keep asking me "whatever happened to pavlik". they havent seen him since hopkins.

well, what I meant was, how does this fight improve his legacy or his popularity? It just seems like a random fight. Unless this fight is at SMW, it doesn't make any sense.

A fight between Pavlik and Green had been loosely discussed and shot down after Green, currently at super middleweight, refused to come down to 160 for the fight and asked for a catch-weight. Green has now changed his stance on the weight. Bob Arum likes the fight - but only if the bout takes place at 160. [details]
i'm sure pavlik can make the 4-5 million fighting allan green....

So what? That might get Arum and Pavlik to give more money to Williams than what he deserves, but it isn't going to make them bend over that much further. Pavlik has done just about everything to be reasonable in these negotiations and Williams is on some ***** ****. Arum could probably put Pavlik on Showtime and it would still give him a decent payday. Arum is willing to go outside of the box. It's usually because he wants to protect his fighters but that's not the case here. Before this fight was put back on the table, I just about had my mind made up that I would root for Paul Williams to knock Pavlik's block off. But now, it's the other way around. Just thinking about the possibility of the Williams-Pavlik fight falling apart makes me mad as hell.
