piss off son, I have seen the fight 6 plus times and every time I see it, Hopkins looks like a tired old man begging the ref for a breather. I googled the punch stats and that is what came up, so those are the ones I used. I'm sure I could find other numbers that haven't allegedly been proven false and they too would show that Calzaghe had far better stats than Bhop did. The guy throws like 100 plus punches per rd, BHOP is not gonna stop them all.

These stats are from ESPN: The CompuBox statistics, however, tell a different story. Calzaghe landed 232 of 707 punches (33 percent) to Hopkins' 127 of 468 (27 percent).

It was the most punches ever landed on Hopkins in any of the more than a dozen fights of his that CompuBox has tracked.

Calzaghe (45-0, 32 KOs) was proud of that as well as his historic victory.

I'm sure you went through and counted all the individual punches landed for both guys and you know the correct numbers so I won't waste time complaining about it.

As long as we're mentioning Hopkins/Calzaghe punch numbers ; Hopkins managed to cut Calzaghe's punch output number in half during the course of that fight.

Both men deserve credit for what they were able to do against the other in that fight.

I give Hopkins credit for making Joe look slow and befuddled for the first 4 rds. I like Hopkins but that was one of the only fights where I have seen the set pace make him feel uncomfortable instead of him setting the pace and making the other guy uncomfortable.

yea and that's how you score fights huh? who looks older? forget who is actually landing punches and the real scoring criteria.

better stats as far as throwing punches? yes calzaghe threw more punches! but the hardest part and probably the most important part in boxing is actually landing punches and he failed miserably there. should inaccuracy be rewarded? according to you yes.

he basically did stop them all cept for a couple. who cares about lil details like landing punches just watch the windmill throw! look at him go!

Never really cared for his style against hopkins. He just fought ugly in that fight. I also remember him loosing his composure against Kessler whenever the dane cought him. The only time i thought he really looked good was against Lacy. He ain't no JMM.
