Vitali is a paper champ untill he beats lennox or the #1 contender of the W.B.C James Toney. Of course he wants a rematch.
Lennox Lewis Scared?

If Lewis came right back and fought Vitali, I wouldn't put much stock in it. He hasnt been training, and of course I would expect Lewis to have a couple tune up fights. I doubt the powers that be would allow Lewis to really get back in, the right way. Lewis would almost have to be a little rusty if he were to get right back in there with the likes of Vitali. It would be completely unfair to Lewis. So unless the money gets astronomical, and it might. I expect Lewis to stay retired.Comment

Lewis probably is concerned about fighting Klitchko..he has good reason to be. He'd be over 40 by the time the match could take place, and out of training for a couple of years. The only way he'd pull off a win is with a lucky punch (or more likely, considering Klitchko's chin, a lucky combination) that either KO's the current champ (who's never even been on the mat), or opens another cut for another stoppage.
Lewis and Klitchko both fought a great fight. For me, it was probably the best heavyweight match I've seen since I was a kid. And a rematch would've been great, had it happened within a year, with Lewis having time to get into shape, and Klitchko having the time to heal his cut. It didn't, and it's just too late now. Klitchko is a few fights smarter and more experienced in the ring, and Lewis is a few years older, slower, and more out of shape. I don't want to see that fight, not now. We've seen plenty of former champs make the "great comeback", we don't need to see another one. Technically speaking, the fight would be next to meaningless for Klitchko if he should win. True, people would talk it up, but in reality, he'd simply have beaten a past-his-prime champ who really shouldn't have been in the ring. And if Lewis somehow managed to pull off the win against all odds, then what? Sit on the division a few more years, fighting only lower class mandatory bouts, keeping the actual contenders from ever getting their chance at the belt, before finally retiring in disgrace?
Lewis was a great fighter. When he wanted to, he could put on a show to be remembered. And against Klitchko, he fought a more exciting match than he had in years, against an opponent that turned out to be far tougher than anyone ever imagined, and it turned out to be, in my opinion, fight of the year. I think we should let it go at that, thank both champs for the fight we'll remember (and watch) for years to come, and forget about any ideas of a rematch.
And Lewis needs to shut the **** up about Klitchko and stop trying to justify his win every chance he gets, and he needs to show Klitchko more respect for giving him one of the toughest fights he's ever had.
And Klitchko should ignore the jibes, comments and other bull**** from Lewis and stop being ****** enough to rise to take the bait. I'm a big fan of both fighters, but I gotta tell you, I can't believe that two fully grown men would act like these two do in public.

What does Lewis care more about, money or legacy?
IMO - Lewis won't rematch Vitali because he is afraid this..........
.............might end up like this.............
IMO - Lewis's legacy means more to him than money. He already has money, and if he looses a rematch to Vitali, his record of defeating all his opponents (some by rematch)will be lost and his legacy damaged. For that reason, he is scared and should be.
If they did fight, I don't think Lewis's layoff would make that much of a difference, he only fought once a year anyway. If anything, his age should be his achilles heal.
Lewis's mommy won't let him fight anywayComment
