    Lennox Lewis Scared?

I found this article on sky news website. 2-19-05

"Vitali Klitschko has accused Lennox Lewis of running scared.

The world heavyweight champion says the 38-year-old Briton retired from the sport in February 2004 to avoid a rematch with him - and is still too scared to face him today.

Lewis was reported to be considering a comeback a month ago but has since quashed the rumours.

And according to Klitschko, it was because he does not want to face the 6ft ½ in WBC champion for a second time after the Ukrainian was leading their first meeting before it he was stopped by a cut.

"Lennox Lewis took retirement because he is afraid," Klitschko told Ringside. "He was a afraid of a second match.

"This fight is still very interersting for all boxing fans around the world.

"I don't need Lennox Lewis. Lennox Lewis needs me because Lennox needs to show everybody that he is stronger than me because everyone is doubting it."

Klitschko will make the second defence of his WBC title against Hasim Rahman in April, who of course became only the second man to beat Lewis when he took his undisputed heavyweight title with a fifth-round knockout back in 2001.

Lewis avenged the defeat seven months later, but the current champion says he will take less than the four rounds the Briton needed to beat him.

And he is adamant that as long as he remains the heavyweight champion of the world, Lewis will not want a rematch.

"Lennox is hoping somebody beats me and the fight will not be so inetresting," he said. "But I am the goal for everyone, the heavyweight champion of the world, and everbody wants to beat me. I will try and keep this title for a long time."

"I don't want to make the same mistake as Lennox Lewis, he under-estimated Hasim. He didn't prepare it properly but I will be 100 per cent prepared and will show that by beating Rahman faster than he did."

Gotta love it. The Lewis lovers are gonna flip over this one.

Isnt LL supposed to make upwards to 30-40 million range if he should return to fight Vitali.

Why would Lewis be afraid of making that much money on a fight he's got a pretty good chance of winning.

Vitali's people are trying to get Lennox out of retirement for a big money fight. A fight that might legitimize Klitschko's supposed reign of the heavyweight division.

...Yeah, looks to me like Vit is just telling it like it is. Apparently he has gotten tired of Lennox predictions and all the bull**** he talks from the safety of the announcers chair. It's about time he called Lewis out for running scared. Either get back in the ring or STFU and go produce some ****ty rap video or something.

If VK can blow Rahman out I think the outcry will be so great for a rematch that LL will eventually do it...I expect to see this fight by the end of the year.

Yeah but lets not act like this wasn`t expected. lewis waiting for Holyfield to get older before he fought him and so to for Mike Tyson. Why should Lewis fight a tall puncher heavyweight in his prime? He might lose the rematch then Lewis wouldn`t be able to run his mouth off anmore. But i think Lewis, for the rematch, should think up many excuses, age, venue, ref etc.. before he does fight Klit. At least then if he were to lose it`d would,`t be a loss would it, cos Lewis had all these excuses pre - planned, like with the McCall loss ( luckly punch ) Rahman ( luckly punch )and the performance against Klit the first time ( The Russian was gonna quit anyhow, Lewis moaned ).

this a quick little refresher course incase you dont wanna watch the whole fight again. notice the grotesque cuts all over Klitschko's face(eyes, cheek, and lip).

My fav. picture is page 1/bottom right. You see Klitscko heading back to his stool while i looks like LL is about to fall right off his. Seeing this picture makes me wanna go back and read all those posts of how Lewis was about to turn it on.

But the point of this post is. Lennox Lewis knows what he was able to do in the first fight. He's going to get paid out of his a$$. HE IS NOT SCARED TO TAKE THIS FIGHT.
