If Cotto is stripped Manny's only option of obtaining that belt is by beating Mosley as he is ranked #1. This is all Manny's or at least his "peoples" fault, because its either Cotto for FAR more money and his legacy if he just man's up and fights for a WW title without a catchweight, or take less money and face Mosley for his title at probably a 141 catachweight. If Manny takes the latter though, it hurts his legacy, at least in my eye's as he passed up his first opponent because he would only fight him if the "Manny Rule" was instated. The Manny Rule of course is fighting where he tells you how much you can weigh.

Fighters are only obligated to perform for thier promotional companies, not sanctioning bodies.

Should Cotto decide to drop the belt, the WBO can't force him to fight for anything whether Pac wants it or not.


How are you going to have a fight where only one contestant is interested in the title?

If Cotto vacates te title and the WBO wants to make it a title fight the fighters have to pay their fees and if Cotto is not obligated to pay the fees so if Manny is the only one who pays he will be the only one fighting for the title!!!!!!

Pacquaio is already rated as the number 1 contender by teh WBO(How he got to be the number contender, who the **** knows, but he is).

So if Cotto vacates, he cant fight for the title, because you cant fight for a title you vacated in your next fighT
