Welterweight Isaac Hlatshwayo (29-1-1, 10 KOs) scored a twelve round split decision over Delvin Rodriguez (24-3-2, 14 KOs) to claim the vacant IBF world title on Saturday night at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. In a tough, gritty fight, Hlatshwayo was largely successful in silencing Rodriguez’ hometown fans as he methodically built a lead on the scorecards over the second half of the fight. In the end, scores were 116-113, 116-112 Hlatshwayo, 115-113 Rodriguez.

ha that was a little vague... Just wondering what are the worst and most common misconceptions you see people making again and again when analyzing and discussing match ups, fighters strengths and weaknesses. Example; I see lots of people on here constantly stating this guy is shot or that guy is shot after one subpar performance against an opponent. Another example; I see lots of people trying to state opinions and discuss training habits of certain fighters when they (I will include myself in this) have no direct experience in training for a fight. Just curious.

I'll spread some Delvin Rodriguez gossip:

Leading up to his bout with Shamone Alvarez, Delvin sparred with two local fighters. Both southpaws, both journeymen. Apparently Delvin and one of the fighters know each other, I guess from their days in the Dominican Republic. Anyway, Delvin knocked the first fighter down for the first time ever (pro, amateur or sparring). He got up and boxed Delvin's ears off for the remaining rounds. The other fighter got in next and rocked Delvin so bad his trainer ended the session early, and told them they weren't going to use either fighter for sparring again. There were then heated words between Delvin's handlers and the other fighters' handlers, and they were, for all intents and purposes, kicked out of the gym.

              and played hardball.
