i dont think so.. the economy will play a big part in selling ppv's and we all know that the US economy is not doing well now..

That's not to say Pac vs Floyd is going to do lousy, but it won't do 2.4 mill buys. If anything it'll be maybe 1.3-1.5 buys. Considering Floyd's having a tough time selling this fight with Marquez, Pacquiao just came off a Hatton fight that did great numbers, but nothing astronomical.

BTW, UFC 100 is reaching 1.8 mill buys which is one of the highest PPV buys since Oscar vs Floyd. If and when Fedor vs Brock is signed, Dana is going to gather another 2-3 main eventer following it (they're also mentioning a potential Anderson Silva vs Liotto Machita matchup). That PPV without question will go through the roof. I doubt Dana would go head to head with it considering he himself is a Boxing fan and isn't THAT naive, but I believe UFC would pull more buys. Their average PPV buys are something Boxing wish they could achieve in this day and age on a consistent basis, not once or twice a year.

But hey, don't count your chickens before they hatch. Pacquiao isn't guaranteed to come out victorious Nov 14th.
I knew that UFC was going to do great numbers. I also agree with what you said about a Fedor vs Lesnar card. It would be crazy is Pac vs Floyd happened with Mosley and Cotto on the undercard. That would be huge for boxing

UFC fighters all fight under the same company though, if boxers did they'd blow UFC out the water

Imagine Floyd vs Pac, Mosley vs Cotto and Pavlik vs Williams all on the same card

I don't think this happens. DLH/Tyson have non boxing fan appeal and hype/charisma and people just like them. Pac or PBF just don't have (Who does really tho?).

DLH VS Mayweather was perfectly setup (24-7 was born and champion vs champion/ superstar vs superstar/ DLH ko over Mayorga to win 154 belt / Mayweather reigning 147 Ring champ + Pound for Pound#1 / black vs half Mexican / HBO/Golden Boy/DLH/Mayweather promoted the **** out of the fight/ Good economy at the time ect.

Pacquio and Mayweather are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY more internationally known and followed then Lesnor and Fedor and you're out of your mind if you think other wise... I don't agree...

Have either Pacquiao or Floyd fought in front of 80,000 people mainly to see them fight? Fedor has numerous times. I think you may be underestimating Fedor's clout. Outside the US, Fedor is widely known. Being he hasn't fought much on US soil gives people the impression that he's a nobody. If you go to Japan or Europe, Floyd Mayweather isn't anywhere near even being as big as the Klitschkos (who are proven draws).

Now obviously, Boxers are paid more because there are more hands in the pot, the sport is over 100 years old. But for someone like Paul Williams who will maybe make 1.5 Mill against Kelly Pavlik, how much of that means anything if you're still a virtual unknown to the general public? The name of the game is noteriety and I can put the house on you asking 10 random people who Paul Williams and Chuck Lidell are, more chances than none they're gonna tell you they know Chuck Lidell.

Floyd vs Pac will do great numbers, but Dana's proven he knows how to sell fights and where his market is thus why that company has been flourishing for years now...and this is coming from a Boxing 1st fan.
