    Technically, 141-147 is welterweight...

just like 201 is still heavyweight, 165 is super middleweight...

As much as I'd like to see the "full feat" of fighting Cotto (who is known for weight issues in the past) at a full 147 limit..technically, those numbers have always been the "limits"...and not necessarily the only number a fighter has to weigh in at..

For example, Hopkins, many times weighed in under the Middleweight limit at 158 1/2-159....that is still middleweight...but 160 is the limit...161 is over the limit...

If I am wrong, let me know...

either way, I will be pulling for Cotto...Freddy is beginning to "irk" me and I know that's his plan, to get under Pacman's opponent's skin

I dont think that is an issue anymore man
    I agree its the limit
    what is your point?
Is it the catchweight or the fact the belt isnt on the line?
I think Cotto agreed to not put the belt on the line cause if he loses he would still have some leverage to fight someone meaningful after

He is just pointing out that Cotto wants 147 so pac can fight for the belt, but 145 is still a valid weight to fight for Cotto's belt

he also pointed out that fighters can weigh in under the limit. No reason why Cotto cant weigh in at 146/147 and Manny can weigh in at 141 and fight for the belt.

Im sick of this already, Cotto and Pac are 2 of my fave fighters and im starting to dislike both because of all this ****. (not enough to put me of them though)
Who cares about the belt anyway. this fight is bigger than the WBO. I just wanna see a good fight.
and not have to see half the 1st page dedicated to threads slagging one or the other fighter of.

Then Pacquiao camp, not pac himself will cry that it's now a full 147 limit, belt or no belt. If Cotto at 147 and Pac at 141, Cotto would have the advantage of being at a natural weight. Pac is great at light ww but a few more pounds could help pac

It's that simple really, yeah 147 is the limit,so there should be no problem with Cotto weighing just that,to defend his belt, right?!Manny can weigh whatever he likes& Cotto can weigh whatever he,the champ likes too!!

What I think you're failing to understand is that Manny's team want Cotto in as light as they can... it may make sense to have to 147 limit and have Manny come in at whatever weight he prefers... but it was never about Manny, it was about getting Cotto as light as possible.

                    Indeed, it's a major difference with 141Pac vs 147Cotto
