You need to do your research and homework before repeating yourselves. A welterweight normal fight Can be in the range of 141-147 but to have a RECONGNIZED CHAMPIONSHIP FIGHT AT WELTER WEIGHT IT NEEDS TO BE UP TO 147.
This means that a Championship fight is UP TO 147 not UP TO 145.
I have beebn trying to explain this all day too but with the diffenece that my intentions are to educate, therefore please go to the WBO website (link below) and educate yourselves with Secton #3 "Weight Categories".

If Cotto dont want to give up the title, than Go down to 140 Cotto ,for your 15 million.... chicken****!!!

IF COTTO WAS NOT WORRIED ABOUT LOSING...IT WOULD NOT BE AN ISSUE. MR INSECURITY!!!!
I'm asking the same thing. If you agreed to fight Cotto without the title why know change and put more restictions?? Why not fight your biggest available payday and fight at 145 with out the title as you had agreed?? Hell Cotto even gave him another option fight at 147 for the title?? damn you have 2 options to choose from, Aint Cotto nice!!!
I think somebody esle is insecure because he has 2 options and can't chosse from 1. Unless Pacman's team is finally avoiding the fight and making up the restictions to get out of the preagreement.

    • Pac doesn't need to fight Cotto without the Belt. Pac is fighting for his Legacy, Cotto is fighting for Big Money. Pac is the "MAN" and Cotto should "Man" up and risk his belt?! Or is he afraid that a smaller guy will whoope his a$$ and take away his belt?!

Ive been front & center trying to tell people that 147 is not a division but only the max number of welterweight which is the division. Ive made numerous post trying to explain to welterweight is 141-147 & that 145 is a welterweight fight.

55 plus pages of posts & countless articles saying the fight is not signed yet & still no formally legal announcement of the fight.

but everything is agreed already right?

            im clocking out,

have a nice weekend you nincom****ingpoop.
i seen some dumb mofos in my day but you take the cake dude. the rule is 141-147 is the welter weight limit which means cotto can tip the scale at 147.141-145 is a welter weight fight but its no longer at the welter weight limit because its no longer 141-147 which means no belt because the rules has been modified. do you now get it ****** and the rest of the ******s get it now? why the belt cannot be on the line. no dip **** the fight is not sighned yet but they sure make it seem that way right.

            • I don't want to rain on Cotto's parade, because he is really growing on me even though I think that his big victories are too close for comfort. But I find it awfully funny that Shane Mosley sent a signed contract to Pacquiao for a 60/40 split in Pacquiao's favor. Now does anyone think that the end result of those negotiations would end in a 60/40 split for Pacquiao. Hell no. Pacquiao probably could've fought Mosley for a 72/28 split in his favor because the first offer was an opener. Pacquiao is not ****** and he saw what Mosley did to Margarito. Now where I give Cotto respect is the fact that he is standing firm on negotiations and not just kissing the ground that Manny walks on. That is where Mosley is in the wrong. But why does Pacquiao want to fight a guy who is hard to negotiate with (which in Cotto's case is a good and respectable thing), but avoiding a guy who is practically agreeing to have his hands bound behind his back the night they meet in the ring to get a shot at Pacquiao?

              • I am also a pac-fan but what pac team is doing right now makes me feel irritated... In terms of their negotiations are concern I favor cotto for being tough... I want the fight at 147 with the WW belt and f*** the catchweight thing... They are already sounding like a b***ch if they insist on the catchweight... If ever team-pacquiao steps back with this fightI can only think of one reason------ They are scared ti fight cotto at 147 plain and simple...

                • im a fan of both so i dont want one of them losing.....

Pac-Mosley should be the fight on November

In principle I agree that's how it should be, but there are lots of precedents where catchweight fights have been for a title, so for you to say the belt cannot be on the line is simply not true.

He's not avoiding anyone, he made it very clear that he was keen to fight either Mayweather, Cotto or Mosley this year, and he decided in the end to fight Cotto because Mayweather decided to fight Marquez, so wasn't available, and he thinks a Cotto fight would be a bigger money fight and a more entertaining fight than a Mosley fight would be - plus he thinks he's more likely to win it. But if the Cotto fight falls through, he'll try to make a fight with Mosley.
