I agree. Making this fight happen is the most important thing. It's good for their respective legacies, it's good for the fans, and it's good for boxing. These two are the best around; willing to face all challengers.

That is more important than any '0' in the Loss column.

I don't think so.
Your not getting the whole picture. You want you man to win thats understandable. How about if they can fight between 141-147. Then its up to them which weight they will come in but they cant go more than 155 on fight night to even the field. Take note Pac last fight at welterweight he weighed in 142 and fight night he weighed in just 148. Cotto can come in at 147 this time around if he wants. Is that fair enough for you?

              Good for Cotto

I'm glad Cotto is sticking to his guns. Roach needs to shut up and stick to training. If they want the belt, have Pacquiao fight at the Welterweight limit of 147. He agreed to fight Oscar at that level, but now they don't want him to fight Miguel at that level. Gee, I wonder why....maybe it's because Miguel is in his prime and would put a major hurting on Pacquiao at Welterweight. Also, if Pacquiao decides to fight Mosley instead, Mosley would put a serious whuppin' on him.

Fact is if Manny wants to be a 7 division champion, he will have to go up to 147 and beat Cotto to do it. Cotto will be, by far, his toughest challenge. Cotto has underrated hand speed. Manny is faster, yes, but Cotto's speed is underrated. Cotto also has excellent timing, his body attack is brutal, he doesn't rush in but stalks his opponents. He is excellent at cutting the ring off and applying consistent pressure. Only people who gave Miguel trouble at Welterweight were Margarito, Mosley, and Clottey. He out jabbed Mosley and won a close decision that could have gone either way. It took Margarito 11 rounds, possibly with loaded gloves, to stop Miguel so that tells you right away that no way Pacquiao will KO Miguel Cotto. Clottey is a tough opponent for any welterweight, and Cotto got the win on points because Cotto did something to Clottey he is not used to....he knocked him down, and Clottey is known for his granite chin.

The three fighters I names above gave Cotto problems for one reason: They were all bigger than Cotto. Margarito and Clottey forced Miguel to fight backwards. Neither Cotto nor Pacquiao fight well going backwards, but no way is Pacquiao going to make Cotto back up.

It's early to call it, but I'm making a prediction: Cotto wins via stoppage around the 8th round.

              Let the flames begin!

Pac will lose ... to Oscar.. wrong again..
Pac will lose .. to Hatton.. what this... wrong again..

While Pac fan betting getting it right..

                So please gtfo..
Please, I had Pac winning all of those fights, albeit I didnt think it
would be THAT quick against Hatton or that DLH was that shot. For the former I had a bet down with my friend for a 6 round KO. The point is that not everybody has called it against Pac so Pac's freaks need to chill out about that. What I AM really getting tired of is Roach. I respect him as a trainer but he is talking way above his pay grade now. If Pac wants a belt so bad fight Mosley or Berto. PBF does not have one so I guess he is out too. Jokers.

Cotto is a good fighter but far from great.
He lost to Margarito and Clottey recently.
He should give Mosley a rematch.

But to prove you are great you should go to higher weight and fight the bigger guys. Like Pac just for example?

146 and the title, both sides give and both sides win, right?

Ok, the wbo belt would be more important to Pac for going for his 7th world title than Cotto holding to an alphabet belt right? Cotto proved he could make the 146 weight right? He officially weighed in at 146 at the Clottey fight. So why not at 146 and belt on the line. If there is more disagreement throw half a mil that feels getting ripped off and lets get this fight on track huh? The PAC-Hatton fight was on and off but after the deal was solid, everybody made nice and the promotion was a smash! Hopefully all goes the same with this fight.

I dont think Cotto would have any problem with that and it would be completely fair. There is nothing wrong with limiting the fight-night weight as long as it is stated in the contract. They can also include a extremely heavy monetary penalty for coming in above the stated weight in order to guarantee that the fight goes through either way.
