Destiny's Child Donations (In memory of Vernon)

Destiny's Child Foundation relies on the support of our community to ensure the continuation of support in clothing, rent, activities for our clients we need your support.

    Send donations to:

    Destiny's Child Foundation
    2221 Peachtree Rd NE
    Suite D-621
    Atlanta, Georgia 30309

Destiny's Child began with three individuals who's love, compassion, and dedication, towards providing a supportive environment for servicing individuals with developmental disabilities such as mental ******ation, autism and schizophrenia. Truly inspired, Ms. Clementine Burch (Director), Mr. Vernon Forrest (CEO), and Ms. Ki Toy Johnson CFO, opened a home to service their clients needs.

They stepped out on faith and allowed God to place a blessing in each one of their hearts, to inspire generations to come on the importance of giving back to your community and putting your faith in the Lord. As a result, Destiny's Child was formed in 1997 at a residential location on 5360 Sara Jane Campbell Dr. with two consumers from the Regional Board. The house was in an isolated location in the suburbs of the Atlanta city limits.

The all brick two story home was transformed into a loving and nurturing supportive personal care home for adolescent clients. In the summer of 1998 Destiny received their third client who brought tears of joy to their eyes, the young man brought a goofy laugh, and a love that warmed the heart of anyone who was feeling bad. From that moment, Destiny's began to see the rewards that God had delivered them.

For people grieving the loss of one of our great fighters, perhaps making a donation might help - and to something that he truly loved.

The Bringer gave me the idea when he mentioned he would donate to a local charity.

This is the perfect way to honor him, you guys.

I know times are tough for a lot of people right now, but please ; try to give something.

I'm going to send a check their way when I get my paycheck next week in honor of Vernon.

I'm going to keep bumping this thread on a daily basis.

Instead of taking time out of your day to talk about Pacquiao, Cotto, and Floyd for the millionth time, why not take some time out of your day to do something really special and help further Forrest's legacy?

You don't have to give the type of money Forrest gave ; every little bit counts.

And this is something I think he truly would have wanted.

Good idea ; they may have changed their address.

Let us know when they get back to you so those of us who care enough to donate know where to send it.
