The death penalty in America goes by State, not City. Georgia (The state that the City of Atlanta is located in) does indeed enforce the dealh penalty.

Just wanted to point that out for all the non American Forrest fans who may not know about the American legal system.

As for whether or not it'll be enfoced ; who knows what the judge will decide.

I'm hopeful he sends their ass to the lethal injection table for their cowardice.

Forrest was a beloved figure in his community, so hopefully the judge takes note of the outcry.

the saddest thing was forrest was one of the good guys in boxing, when he had nothing he was still giving back to the community.

The first time i saw is fight was prior to fighting Mosley and they did a mini-documentary on his charity and showed him with various people that runs it for him, He was actively involve in this charity and i cant just believe how some people can use guns without thinking about the other peoples lives that they are going to ruined by using them.

Sorry, I meant Georgia *slaps head*. That's great news.

I know there are many people who feel the death penalty gives the criminals an easy punishment...but personally, I don't believe in rehabilitating peadophiles, rapists and killers (especially killers that so coldly killed in this case and had set out to rob also).

I believe that if evil is commited, the punishment MUST be the same or GREATER. And I don't feel that being able to exist in prison with the possibility of one day being released is punishment. Rid the world of these scum...send a message to the rest.

No biggie ; I wasn't explaining it for you so much as I just wanted to explain it for anybody around the world who may be a fan of Vernon's and not know how our setup works.

                  And I'm with you.

I'm not a religious man but I definitely believe in "an eye for an eye".

I think if you're the type of lowlife who is cold enough and cruel enough to take another person's life ; you forefit your right to be treated as a fellow human being and you forefit your right to life.

I know other people have other feelings, but that's just the way I see it.

Not only do I support the death penalty ; but I think we should speed up the process.

Most murderers don't end up getting the death penalty first off.

Secondly ; if they do end up getting it ; they keep them on death row for sometimes 20, 30 and 40 years and **** ; it's ludacris.

It costs the American taxpayer $50 a day, every single day, to house one inmate in a prison facility.

Multiply that number by the millions upon millions of men and women we have serving life sentences all across this country right now and look at the grand total that it costs to house them all for just one day.

Then take that and multiply it by whatever their current sentence is ; the number is astronomical.

We are definitly on the same page, man.

You forfeit all human rights. You are worse than insect to me.

Plus you've got prisons closing down because the govt ant afford to keep them open, so they speed up parole processes. You've got peadophiles who should be executed IMMEDIATLEY that are let back out into the outside world with an electronic goddam tag.

                    You cannot rehabilitate a peadophile.

Now, people may argue again that the death penalty will lead to innocent/ wrongly convicted people being executed too...

So I say lets execute the people that there is video evidence of their crimes...or irrefutible DNA..

Lets make a start this way!

                      Agreed.

I'm not for executing just anybody for just any crime. And I think the American system is far too harsh on drug offenders ; we got thousands upon thousands of people doing life in jail just for getting high ; I don't agree with that at all.

But once you get into ****, murder, and crimes against children ; I'm all for the death penalty and I'm even in favor of making the process even faster.

Assuming the crime is any of those 3 I mentioned and they either have the guy on tape, or linked through DNA evidence ; execute him as fast as possible.

The quicker we kill these *******s on death row ; the lesser the burden becomes on the taxpayer, the facility housing them, and the staff employed at said facility.

Therefore freeing up millions and millions of taxpayer dollars to put toward worthwhile investments such as trying to actually rehabilitate the non-violent, lesser offenders and getting them an education.
