You weren't one of those guys who said there was no way Marquez could hang at 135 either, were you?

I seriously see no way in hell a sloppy guy like Ricky beats (let alone finishes) a precision punching technical guru like Marquez.

I told you to "beat it".

For real though ; enjoy it. There won't ever be another like him.

I'm doing the same with Bernard, though in his case I think it's 1 fight left and that's it.

Yeah, hey I should ask your opinion on this... being an equal bernard fan..

The scenario is, beat Lacy... Danny Green is on the undercard fighting for the vacant IBO CW title..

Roy and Green have a contract that if Roy beats Lacy and Green wins his fight, the two will fight in November in Australia for Greens retirement fight for the IBO CW title...

I know thats not a major title, but it is something in a new division.

Now with Bernard, my opinion is that he wants to fight Roy... because a Roy fight out there with Bernard even at 50-50 would still be that money fight that Bernard is looking for.

The reason I think Bernard hasn't jumped on it, is because Roy hasn't done anything to make himself a major player, and make the fight worth having... and I agree, Roy hasn't... Bernard is definitely in the top of the picture and Roy isn't... but should he beat Lacy and take Green's IBO CW belt... you think that might peak Bernards interest a little more?

2 years ago when they tried to make the fight Bernard gave an interview to on Btalk.com with Gren Leon and said, I would fight Roy Jones because we are both legends... thats what we would call the fight ... legends..

So I know Bernards thought about it...

                Anyways what do you think?

Sorry about the delay, my man ; I was eating some BBQ chicken strips and watching some boxing vids on youtube.

                  Anyway....

I thought about your scenario when you laid it out for me the other day ; it definitely has merit.

If Roy can capture the belt from Green, I say Hopkins' chances of fighting Roy in a farewell fight goes up significantly.

It's not a major title, but as you said ; it is another title in another weight class. And I know Hopkins has thoughts on trying to become a 3 division Champion ; just look at the way he talked about a possible fight with Adamek, and possibly even moving to Heavyweight.

Not to mention that the money would finally be there as well.

As to whether or not he'll do it ; I think that all depends on how he looks against Dawson.

I know I act like a huge nuthugger of his, but I can tell the truth about my boy Hopkins better than most.

And the truth is that aside from Pavlik, he hasn't really looked stellar in his "comeback".

Don't get me wrong, he has his moments, and he's 2-1 since Tarver against some top names.

But the thyroid **** really concerns me.

He looked bad against Winky even though I had him winning by a fair margin.

And gassing out against Calzaghe made it look even worse.

From what I hear ; he has no real treatment for it, and he's just doing his best to combat it with proper diet and exercise.

I wouldn't be surprised to see it show up in another fight if he keeps on with his career.

Dawson will truly be the test.

If he wins that, and looks good while doing it (which I'm expecting), I see no way he won't fight Roy for that title assuming Roy gets it.

The hardest part for Roy getting it will be Green winning it though, I don't see Roy having much trouble beating Green for it, once it's in Danny's possession.

Hatton knocks him out inside 4.

This fight will probably happen too.
