He tested the water with DLH. not one person knew until they got in the ring that DLH received an IV for dehydration. This became the excuse after the fact. Regardless of the opinions of DLH from me or you...He tested the waters. ONCE. If it were real comfortable he would of stayed. Instead he goes to the 140 division and blows out the #1 there as well. The offer for Cotto wasn't going to work at 140 and Manny wasn't going to go back up to 147...Cotto can decline at anytime as well. He is accepted this weight. Why not throw in the title.
Cotto would rather give his belt away rather than lose it.

You can say he tested the waters all you want if it makes you feel better. He tested the water with DLH. not one person knew until they got in the ring that DLH received an IV for dehydration. Doesn't take away the fact he stopped his opponent there and then when he chooses to face a prime welter,
he wants that person to comprimise.
Whats really funny is that you talk about his comfort level like you know the guy.
Apparently hes comfortable enough to take on Miguel Cotto, at 145, for the welterweight belt.
Its only 2 pounds,
whats the big deal?Comment

Being Cotto came in a 146 in his last fight 1lb shouldn't be a big deal at all.You can say he tested the waters all you want if it makes you feel better.

as for his comfort level. I pay attention when they make press conferences and to what they say after the fights. It was said that Manny was going down to 140 and not staying at a weight he wasn't to comfortable at.
So he tested the water yes...Didnt cotto to at 140 how many times did he test that 140 water? hmmmmmm! Take your time!Comment

Seeing as how Manny fought at welterweight once before, and stopped a former middleweight championBeing Cotto came in a 146 in his last fight 1lb shouldn't be a big deal at all.

Yes, you are right they are in the WW division. But, and I hope your brain can fathom this. The WW division is 141-147 pounds, if the WW title is on the line then... **GASP** Pac or Cotto can weight anywhere from 141-147 pounds, period. If Paq wants to come in at 145 by all means he can, however, there is NO way in ****ing hell that Cotto shouldn't be allowed to come in UNDER the LIMIT of the division. You keep saying 145 is WW, well... isn't 147 WW? So why shouldn't he be allowed to come in at any weight within the division limit?
And before you even bring up that he agreed to 145 that was before the title was even brought up. In fact, Manny never brought up the title at all if the fight took place at 145. Manny made it an issue, AFTER he signed the contract. All Cotto is saying is, fine, if you want the title then we aren't changing the RULES just for you and its going to happen at a limit of 147 pounds.Comment
