^^i think his motives are more: ok this assclown is not giving me more to strive for or to achieve.
fans see it as some dumb excuse like you just put without seeing a bigger picture. if he fought JMM again right after the next fight then another fight. would he really make moves in boxing
IT'S ABOUT BEING THE BEST OR THE PERCEPTION OF THE BEST. staying at a plateau fighting one man will not get you anywhere. so he moved on to now being consider a HUGE ATG and making HISTORY.Comment

I wouldn't compare Diaz to Baldo. And while Manny was stepping up to fight bigger fighters from another weight class. Mayweather Jr. was looking foward to fighting smaller fighters. Oscar looked more of a challenge for Pacman because Pac is a small dude moving up 17 pounds to fight a bigger fo. And before that Manny fought the best in his weight class while Floyd avoided them.Comment

Floyd's skills are undeniable.....but its the way he fights (post Gatti) that people knock him for...he claims (and in my opinion is) the best fighter of our generation (after the Roy Jones Jr. era) BUT, when you run your mouth a certain way (such as Floyd) you ARE EXPECTED TO DOMNIATE your opponents. His fight against Baldomir....dominated from round 1 to round 12, but in a very un-impressive fashion, never once did Floyd "turn up the heat" in fear of getting hurt. DLH....that was the most hyped up fight in the history of boxing...NEITHER ONE delivered on their promise to give the fans what they wanted...but because Floyd is the "bad guy", he is recieving the majority of the blame for that fight not delivering. Against Hatton....in my honest opinion...he could've KOd him ALOT sooner...I think the 5th or 6th Floyd could've turned it up, but he instead waited, and only finished off Hatton when he was FOR SURE he could get him. The check hook was more of a defensive punch and hitting the ring-post didn't help Hatton out either. Add to that Hatton diddn't have KO power at Welterweight, or enough to even stun Floyd (IMO).

Manny.....Not the most complete fighter, but makes up for it with heart, and controlled agression.
Against Diaz...who was the weakest of the major title holders...it was more of a "coming out" party for Manny in his 1st fight at LW. Couldn't fight any other LW fighter due to conflicting schedules....Juan Diaz just lost to Nate Campbell in March and neither would've signed to fight Pac in 3-4 months.....Cassamayor just fought Katsidis in March and wasn't going to fight Pac in 3-4 months time....and Marquez 1st fight after his SD loss to Pac was against Casamayor in Sept. of '08.....people give Pac **** for fighting a nobody like Diaz...but look at the big picture....Diaz lasted longer than Oscar and Hatton.
. Agains't DLH...Manny delivered his end of the bargain and it showed....he could've been cautious and fought very tentatively, but he fights to give the fans something to talk about (or so he says). AND TO BE HONESTLY UN-BIASED...NO ONE ELSE COULD'VE MADE OSCAR QUIT...weight drained or not. Was his face like that after his 12 rounds against Floyd? Didn't think so. And finally Hatton....to be honest...most of the credit goes to Freddie Roach. He had the perfect plan to take out Hatton, and Pacquiao excecuted perfectly. Now all of a sudden, Hatton was "never that good", "overrated", "B level fighter at best"....well...why aren't the same people who said put Hatton down against Pac, not put him down like that when he fought Floyd? If that was true about Hatton, then Floyd's win against him should be voided as well right?

Floyd and Manny are destined to fight each other in the end....its just a matter of how much money will Floyd take to fight Manny......Comment
