I have ripped Cotto before for not fighting for legit belts, but I do have to give him respect for not letting Pac and Roach play him for a ho. Pac should have to fight at Welter if he wants that strap. Cotto gets props from me for this. In fact, even though I respect the overall resume of Pacquiao a little bit more I think the opponents that each guy has fought as of late are night and day. I like Pacquiao's fighting style better, but I expect more of Pacquiao when it comes to proper behavior outside of the ring and how he negotiates with his opponents. It wouldn't break my heart to see Cotto get the win here, because he has fought who he has supposed to with the exception of Paul Williams and he hasn't cherry picked his opponents (except for Jennings and Gomez) and he takes the catch out of catch weight somewhat by not playing Pac's games.

I agree, if the tittle is going to be on the line than they should fight at the welter weight limit. If they dont accept 147lbs for the tittle than cotto should not put up the belt ot hanf it in. **** the belts they dont mean **** anymore.

PBF only made Hatton move up to 147 but all his other fights
were at 147 or 154. Floyd didn't fight at a catch weight when
he was active. Oscar was/is bigger than Floyd at 154 and Floyd
still fought him at his natural weight BUT Cotto is not that much
bigger than Pac and Pac won't fight him at 147? Roach/Pac are
handicappers. Roach already went on record and stated why
he would want a catch weight on fighters at 147. Roach wanted
Manny to fight Oscar because he said he couldn't pull the trigger
after the PBF fight! That's cherry picking and Roach knew Hatton
was easy game for Manny after Floyd knocked him out and beat
both first. Manny is going for the bigger money fights like PBF
before him, it's as plain as day. On top of that PBf is fighting JMM
at 144 not 145. How can it be worst for Floyd than for Pacquiao?
Anyways, more power to Miguel Cotto for sticking to his guns.

In terms of resumes cotto s is much better. Listen i am a big manny fan but lets not be bias. Pacs resume is full of great fighters who were on their way out. For the exception of juan manuel marquez who tied him in the 1st fight and lost in the 2nd which is questionable. Pac would have to beat cotto at 147lbs to get respect from me. Than drop to 140lbs and face the top guys there. Like; joan guzman, kendall holt, tim bradley, nate campbell. Oh and dont let me forge the great juan manuel marquez!

I didn't read any **** talk from Cotto. He's has already conceded significantly in the purse and in the weight. Why on earth should he put up his title and fork over the lion's share of the sanctioning fee? That is just dumb. Pacquiao wants some added significance to this bout, yet he expects Cotto to cover the sanctioning fee (lion's share of it anway) with zero compensation. Valcarel's motivation is obvious; to line his own pockets with sanctioning money and to get some great exposure for his organization. Cotto is being reasonable and smart. I don't see how any fan, regardless of who you're rooting for, doesn't see Miguel's logic. As a fan of both (I favor Pacquiao), I don't want to hear any excuses from either side. The 2 lb concession favors Pacquiao, so it's a built-in excuse for Cotto fans if he loses. I think its great that Cotto is standing his ground on this; against both Arum and the WBO. He's made enough concessions.

cotto just confirm exactly what mayweather has been saying. floyd damaged what was left of oscar before manny got there and also he ruin hatton too when he was untouched and undefeated BEFORE manny got there. war cotto versus mayweather in early spring or in nyc puerto rican parade.

the WW limit is 147 not 145, the title should definitely not be on the line. The president of the WBO has no backbone and is just salivating at the opportunity of Pacman wearing the title to boost it's stature. It should be the other way around, Pacman should be salivating for the title. All pacman is going to do is vacate the title if he gets it anyway. The wbo president needs to grow a pair
