and Juan Diaz vs Valero is definetly a fight that could go down in Texas.
Humberto Soto Returns, Eyes Edwin Valero

Valero needs to take this fight. He's been complaining about not getting the big fights, well here's the biggest one he's going to find in the near future. I would have also liked to see him take on Casamayor, but Soto is guaranteed to bring fireworks.Comment

i think soto would be a better fight for valero and us fans...fireworks is correct from start to finish..if this was on the cotto pacman undercard that would be awesome..get it signed!!!!!!!Comment

Bob Arum said he wants this fight on Pacquiao vs Cotto. (although like someone else said, I thought right now he was only liscensed in Texas) I've only seen Valero's last fight and it left me with more questions than answers. I think this dude is probably more "internet and hardcore hype" than he is legit but if were to fight Humberto Soto and thoroughly beat him or knock him out I'd be much more inclined to believe he is legit.... Based on the 5 minutes of Valero Iv'e seen Juan Diaz beats his ass
Any fighter who fights back, don't give a eff about the Valero media hype, and actually throws violent punches back at his face, will give him serious trouble.
Mosquera put him down on his arse. But he fought a ****** el mas macho type, no defense, head-on collision slugfest with Valero.
Soto is a smart boxer/puncher. He's got a nice high-guard defense, no doubt he's got serious stopping power. If he fights it smart, keep his gloves up, move around, flick his stiff jab, give Valero angles, instead of coming in straight, and counter Edwin's reckless lunges, Soto can knock him out.
Diaz-Valero would be a tougher fight, as the Baby Bull doesn't really have the punching power to get Valero's respect. This could go either way. I reckon it'd be Diaz by a close decision, or Valero by late rounds stoppage.Comment

Soto is just another victim. Another number to place on Valero's ever increasing KO streak.
Valero beats everyone at lightweight not named Juan Manuel Marquez.Comment

I'm a fan of both men, for obvious reasons (how can you not be?) but I don't think Valero has been seriously tested yet.
Pitalua and Mosquera were pretty good steps up and he certainly showed his capability against them, but Soto is a different beast altogether.
He's actually a very capable boxer and I think wayyyy too many people around here sleep on him.
Should the fight go down I would have to edge Soto for the victory by late stoppage ; and I'm a fan of Edwin's as well.
One thing's for sure ; it'll be a grueling fight, in which both fighters will likely exchange knockdowns and a sure fire candidate for "Fight of the Year".Comment
