In football it's not just defense or offense. It's points. If you score points, you win. Score points on defense or offense or special teams. You win and win super bowls because of POINTS.
I get what your saying though. I just wanted to clear up the Football thing. I am a huge football fan, played it for a long time as well before giving it up recently.
Tactical boxing wit defense is gr8, as long as it don't dull the fight. I can appreciate non barnburner fights, as long as there's good action in between defense and clinches.
If you consider a defense covering up or using the ring to much clinching ...yeah its not appreciated and looks lack luster. Winky Floyd have always been boring to watch and criticized for their defense along with others.
Me personally...I think a good defense is a real good offense. Then you got a interesting fight.
I see threads left and right on how Floyd mayweather runs and DEFENDS, or the klitschko's are boring. I understand knockouts are exciting and offence always gets the glory but we dont need to depreciate it. Bernard hopkins is another example.
i like defense....i hate when i fighter defends and don't do nothing for 12 rounds. (not talking about the mention names above)
