Floyd gets respect on these forums? id say no, all people do is bash him. Boxing is a dangerous sport and his "hit and dont get hit" style is simple but genious in a way. whats the most important punch in boxing? the jab, yet people bash Klitsko for throwing it so much cus thats how he keeps his opponent in distance. When winky wright was fulltime active he would get labeled boring as well.

If you consider a defense covering up or using the ring to much clinching ...yeah its not appreciated and looks lack luster. Winky Floyd have always been boring to watch and criticized for their defense along with others.
Me personally...I think a good defense is a real good offense. Then you got a interesting fight.

Not necessarily. In Football it is different. Look at the Colts. Look at Jerry Rice's 49ers. How many lombardi trophies do the Philadelphia Eagles have, even though they consistently have the top 3-5 defense in the league year in and year out?

In football it's not just defense or offense. It's points. If you score points, you win. Score points on defense or offense or special teams. You win and win super bowls because of POINTS.

I get what your saying though. I just wanted to clear up the Football thing. I am a huge football fan, played it for a long time as well before giving it up recently.

I personally started watching boxing because of Sugar Ray Leonard, once you get a taste of Sugar Ray Leonard can you blame me for not liking someone like the new defensive minded Floyd? Going from SRL to defensive Floyd is like going from a giant roller coaster like this

Ring generalship is good defense, you gotta have good footwork to have that. Ive heard Freddy roach say good footwork is the most important thing in boxing. Knowing when to clinch is good defense as well. Floyd picks off punches better than anyone, shoulder rolls all that stuff. B hop is what 43 years old? and he still whoops ass because he doesnt take punishment as much as therefore hes had a very long boxing carreer. Same with Winky. Trust me, the more you get hit the less youll last in this sport.
