I think this fight at 145 is ideal. At 143, cotto would have been as weak as piss. I still think he's going to have a hard-time getting to 145, he'll probs be at about 155 (or more) come fight night.

The thing for me is that manny hasn't really had his chin checked by anyone in the higher weight classes. Diaz didn't land much, de la hoya landed nothing and hatton didn't land nothing.

Cotto will land, question is can manny take it?

I tottaly disagree with the writer saying that Cotto is a 1 dimensional fighter. Cotto has fought mutiple styles of oponenets and has adjusted to their styles. While facing fast boxers (Judah, Paulie and Mosley) he has used his speed and boxing skills to out box and has come really close to egual their speed in order to disrupt (in Paulie's case neutralize) his oponents fightplan and advantage in speed. while fighting brawlers (Pinto, Torres, Margarito) he has brwaled with them and demostrated the hability to beat them. Yes he demonstrated he could had beaten Margarito in the 1st 6 rounds, besides tha fact that we will not know about the plaster issue.
Cotto has shown also on several occasion of several fight that he has the hability of some great lateral movements and defensive skills, which i'm afraid he doesn't use to much, probably becasue of his warrior's instincts. That's probably why he is so compelling to watch. You know that there will be always a war and blood if Cotto's steps in the ring even though i beleive he should use more his defensive skills.

I also disagree how he talks about Pacman who deserves all the credit in the world for what he has done. Talking about DLH and his weight when DLH had officially and publically was bragging that he had made the Weight to weeks before the fight. So it was a matter of maintaing that weight for the next 2weeks, not trying to lossing it like the writer explains.

On the Hatton fight he makes it sound like it was a lucky punch when it was being obvious that Pacman in those less than 6 minutes of fight was already on his way to beat the hell out of Hatton. Hatton was getting out boxed and hit by everthing that Pacman was throwing and was showing no answer. In a sense the KO was a blessing to Hatton because if the fight would had last longer he could had come out more seriuosly injured than he did.

The fact is that this will be a great fight and on what i do agree with the writer is that this fight will create and provide us with more fireworks than the other potential oponents and this is including JMM, who has provided good fights against Pacquiao.

Why is it that anytime someone gives there opinion on why someone will beat Manny or the truth about Manny being very over rated most Manny fans which are filipinos start to cry about someone hating asians? Am I missing something? I thought Cotto fought brilliantly for the first five rounds against Margarito while backing up. Margarito hits like a truck is why he broke Cotto down (or maybe plaster helped him). Anyway, the point is he can fight going backwards as long as it isn't against a huge puncher. He even beat that Muhammed guy he lost to as an amateur and Cotto was backing up the entire fight...

Personally, I slightly favor Pacman but saying Cotto is one dimensional and can't fight backing up makes no sense to me. I feel that unless Cotto can catch Pacman early and hurt him, I think Pac overwhelms him. I am looking forward to this fight bigtime...
