Williams can not fight that way, it would be a huge mistake going away from what he does well. He needs to make his advantages on the inside work.

If Williams tries to fight a defensive fight he gets destroyed because that is not the type of fighter he is.

How the *** is he a welterweight?, the only reason he wins is because of his long reach and height, Trindidad had knock out power at middle, this guy will have nothing when he fights someone similar to his size.

pwill cannot brawl with pavlik. he is out gunned.

fighting defensively is the only way pwill can win. but what he cannot afford to do is back up straight back or sit on the ropes. he needs to use southpaw angles to get in and out and head movement to neutralize the straight right.

I think Williams just needs to focus on what he does well and let the chips fall where they may, trying to be a different fighter then he really is will only end in defeat (imo).

To me a fighter (any fighter really) should focus on what they do well and then relate those to the weaknesses of the opponent.

Focusing to much on the other guys weaknesses really takes away from what a fighter does well, there are guys that are versitile enough to really go after weaknesses but I do not think that Williams is that type of fighter.

Williams does need to be smart and somewhat less reckless to avoid some of the big shots he normally eats because Pavlik is by far the biggest puncher he has faced.
