Yer... but come on.... it's Margarito... we all know what lurks underneath his gloves....

Aside from that, I really do think both deserve credit for taking this fight. Williams because he is a welterweight and Pavlik because he needs to defend his titles at 160 against someone that isn't a bum (i.e., The Pocket Rocket etc).

I see a real war with Williams edging a decision. Williams' body work and inside work will win it for him - Pavlik is like a lost pup on the inside.

Williams is as much as a Middleweight as Trinidad was, seriously Williams is not a real Middleweight the sooner people realise that the better.

I think Paul starts fast as Pavlik gets used to the pace he fights at, and wins the first few rounds. Pavlik gets used to the punches being thrown in the middle rounds and starts to rock Paul, and the rounds will be hard to call. In the last 3 or 4 rounds Pavlik takes over somewhat like Margarito did and punishes Paul, and wins what many will consider a controversial decision.

anyway here is my analysis, i see a slugfest for about 3 to 4 rounds with williams moving his head and using angles and pavlik pressuring him, i see williams throwing alot of punches and pavlik throwing his one two, i see williams punches having almost NO affect on pavlik and pavlik's having a huge affect on williams, and i see williams completely broke down by the 3rd or 4th round and kelly landing his one two and follow up hook to drop williams, but williams gets up and tries to fight but gets completely knocked out after getting up. Pavlik by brutal TKO in the 3rd or 4th round.

look everyone thinks kelly is extremely easy to outbox after what b-hop did to him. but bernard hopkins is bernard hopkins. paul williams has decent movement but is no bernard hopkins. also kelly would be the biggest guy williams has ever been in the ring with. i think they are about the same height with pavlik being much physically stronger. so i really dont see williams having a chance in this fight AT ALL..i might get heat for it but im just speaking my opinion. also im not a fan of either of them so there is no bias in my analysis what so ever. opinions? thoughts?
I made a similar comment to my friend about Wright's punches on Williams. He only landed a handfull of clean punches, and he was never able to follow up in combination with additional punches but each flush punch that landed caused Williams to make a very noticeable grimace. If you consider that WW Margarito's pressure style was ultimately able to wear Williams down, then it's difficult to imagine Pavlik's style wouldn't atleast have a very similar effect. Either way I think it would make for a very very entertaining fight. Regardless of the result I imagine it could definitely be a legit FOTY candidate or atleast the sorty of fight you watch a few times before moving on.

I almost completely agree but I see Williams lasting until the 6th.

Williams will get his due with this fight by exposing Pavlik as one dimensional once again. This is Kelly's last hurrah. Cash out time.

I can see the merits in picking either man. It will not be like the B-Hop fight at all because Williams is not that great as a technical boxer, although he does some subtle things to not take full damage on some of the big shots he seems to eats. To me Williams is the more versitle fighter though because he can fight on the inside and the outside although he usually gets caught when he goes form one to the other. Willaims is also a south paw which give him a little advantage but he is hardly a crafty southpaw and Pavlik has a good straight right so this is minimal.

If Williams stays in Pavlik's grill I think he has a major advantage because Pavlik need to extend to get real power and he is not a good inside fighter. As I said previously Williams usually get caught going between outside and inside so he needs to be very careful especially early on because Pavlik is the biggest puncher he has faced.

I favor Williams slightly and I think he will win by knockout, but this fight is there for either man to take so it should be very interesting.

pwill needs to fight defensively to win. if he tries to brawl w/ pavlik he will get destroyed.

pavlik will walk thru paul's punches no doubt. he walked thru miranda's bombs and took flush shots from hopkins for 36 minutes and bombs from jermain taylor...but how will he answer the 1000 punches in his face? it can potentially be like jones-calzaghe
