Floyd had his chance to say that he did, but he retired on top dancing with the stars ,wwe and the knockout of hatton he was set up to replace dela hoya but retired.

so he worked his way to the top and retired once he reached it don't know why.

If Floyd fought Marquez on ABC, NBC, or CBS, then yes I would say he is saving boxing.

dlt, i see what you mean, and i do agree with many things you posted...floyd isn't bigger than boxing, but it's kind of ironic that for a guy who many people criticize and hate so much have his name mentioned by almost eveyone when it comes to the biggest fights in boxing....that i agree with very much...when floyd retired, many people claimed he would come back, and many posters on here called floyd out for their favorite fighters to fight against....eveytime a big name in boxing won a fight, they talked about floyd fighting that guy---i.e. margarito beating cotto, people wanted him to fight floyd, and the hbo commentators talked about floyd fighting him....when cotto beat jennings...they called for him to fight floyd....when pac stopped oscar, floyd's name was the first name out of people's mouth when talking about the biggest fight in boxing, period...people on here can call floyd all the names in the book, but they are the same people wanting a mayweather/pacqiauo fight---when shane beat margarito, people wanted him to fight a guy who retired and was so called "not needed" in boxing...so all of the bull**** posts and responses i've read on here mean nothing when they are the same ****ers calling for floyd to fight pac......

trust me, people want pac to fight floyd----the same with shane and cotto---i guarantee you that more people want to see pac/mayweather than pac/cotto---

i also agree about the 24/7 series also....floyd made that show big....because of his brute trash talk and flashy lifestyle---his skillset and the way he trains and people love controversy, and floyd is just that....they stay glued to the tv because they want to cuss this man or wish for his demise in the ring....for whatever reason, floyd is the name at the end of the day---because he is still undefeated and more....

so, why i do believe no boxer is bigger than boxing, floyd included, and he will never be---boxing does need him, whether people want to believe it or not, because of all of the intangibles that come with him....he is very much hated---that we know---he is brash, ****y, can be an *******, ect...but he keeps people talking....there is no bigger fight in boxing today than pac and floyd.....if cotto beats pac, i guarantee you, there will be no bigger fight in boxing than cotto and floyd.....**** the undercard---all roads lead to floyd, agree to disagree all you want....

Boxing will always be here with or without Floyd. There have been far bigger stars in boxing than Floyd and there always will be.

No but the UFC has in my mind made the promoters work a little harder to get a good product to the fans. The super six tourney, cotto pac may marq
good stuff Boxing can not be beaten when top fighters go at it. Dana White evens knows that. Drama like no other sport!!!

as much as i love floyd as a boxer....i dont think he is saving boxing..he actually hurt it really bad with the hatton and de la hoya fought

the de la hoya fight was just wayyyy too calm for the biggest fight in history, and the hatton fight...welll it was full of hugs and kisses... -___- except for maybe round 8 and round 10.....casual fans look for action

they dont see or appreciate the skill of a boxer like floyd, they dont understand boxing enough to like him/his style

Hey man, by no means am I defending him....I'm just saying, this is a ****ed up sport that has plenty of tragic endings...Floyd has played the game the way he has wanted to, judge him for it or not
